Remarks
College is really doing good, but need to work more on providing exposure to the students. They should allow them to participate in various activities and fests in other colleges.
Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum for b. Tech computer science is well formulated. They changed it time to time as an when required. Exam structure is equally good. There are 2 periodicals and 1 semester exam in each semester with continuous evaluation thourough assignments and quizzes. I feel it is relevant, research driven and fair since student gets multiple chances to perform well and Infact they are necessary for overall development of children. It helped me making a better professional since they can work all the time and not depending on the last moment prepation.
College Events
There were various events thouroughout the year, from celebrating Festivals like holi, dusshera, ganapati, Navratri etc were celebrated with full joy and happiness. The technical and cultural fest of all the courses would be held every year by the students. Mayukh is the cultural and technical fest of the Btech, mca m tech, bsc and msc students. Similarly other departments have their own fest. Mayukh was the national level fest where students from different colleges would participate in the 3-day programme. Various competitions and contests were held with the dance, drama, singing and play in the last day. It was fun and lot of learning experience for the students. Many students participated in the fest. From organising to participate in contests and competitions there were so many students. The teachers helped the students to prepare well. There were lots of sections for the students.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee structure during my time from 2014-2018 was feasible. It was 1.5 lacs pee year. Now it might be more to. 2.5 lpa.Fees could be paid thourough cheque /cash /nift/credit card /debt card. Yes the college had a full breakdown of the fees. From admission to education and mess and other fees. No there was not any additional fees paid other than that mentioned in the fee structure. If you are pursuing any other course like diploma and certificate course along with your graduation then you need to pay that fees too along with the usual Btech fees.
Fees and Financial Aid
No,I did not applied for any scholarship or education loan. To apply for the scholarship students need to apply, they need to fill the form and if selected they will be in interviewed. The scholarship amount was from 5000.
Campus Life
It was women's University so 100% women. Banasthali Vidyapith has its ??????? ??????. There were lots of extra curricular activities like games - basketball, volleyball, badminton, hockey, cricket, gymnastics, yoga etc. Along with this there were various dance classes - classical, music lessons-guitars, ?????, piano, ????, drum, tabla, violin etc. There is a radio station in banasthali - 90.4 fm. So there was classes for rj, editor and mixing etc. Web designing, French and German speaking classes etc. There were other various activities that students could participate they were interested. They were good labs infrastructure. Robotics and debated were all there in our college.
Hostel Facilities
Yes, I opted for hostel in all the years of Btech. There was no option for PG's in our college. All the students were given hostel. There were hostels with 2-seater, 3-seater abd and 4 - seater on sharing bases. The hostels were not very good. The food was good. We were given four times meals everyday. Morning breakfast, lunch, evening snacks and dinner. Every Tuesday we got special lunch with sweets. The hostel was clean and spacious There was a big room for study or organizing some event. The infrastructure could be improved though. But the new hostels which were coming up had a good infrastructure and they were 3 and 4 seater. They were very big hostels allocated to all the new students. Various old hostels were renevuated with the new styles of hostels.
Alumni/Alumna
Senior students always helped the students. They organised the various interactive sessions with the students especially juniors during the course. Not any touch with the alumni. They need to be connected with the juniors of the college. The hostels of seniors and junior's were Also far so they're was not much interaction.
Admission
I appeared for the entrance exam of banasthali Vidyapith on 30 may 2014( or around this as I remember). It was an exam based on physics, chemistry and mathematics. After few days I got Letter that I have cleared the exam and was called for an interview. The letter contain the information that I will be given the first two branches from my choice while filling the form based on the merit list. there will be slot of 9–10,10–11,11–12 so maximum 150 students. and these slots 9–10,10–11 contains students of banasthali(11th 12 th) and one slot of sc/st candidates due to their weightage in the admission. with my starting of the interview, taken by two interviewers,I was asked to introduce myself first. Then I was asked how I came to know about banasthali, and why I wanted to take part in this particular college. After this the next question was asked if I will be comfortable with the dress, the khadi and the cotton,salwar-suit.Next question was about the strict and disciplined environment there, and whether I could adjust to this environment. After my answer to this question they asked few such questions with my mother who was with me during the first round of my interview Similar question were asked to other students out there.one of them was also asked if she likes sharing things with other. Overall they judge you on the basis of your living, and weather you will be able to adjust the life of banasthali. Basically the weather, dress and the hostels life in banasthali. After the interview I was selected and asked for the branch. They gave me my choice of branch and then the process to submit the fees began. I was called on day 1 of the counselling at 2-3 pm slot.
Faculty
Some of the faculty was doing great job, they made the concept clear and topic interesting. Every subject has 2-3 teachers. Since there was larger number of students in computer science and there was 2 sections. So few subjects had common teachers while few subjects had different teachers. Teachers provided good knowledge about the course and curriculum. It was all good in the beginning of the course but at the end due to the less available time, they used to skip some topics or it was done in hurry due to time constraints. The teachers were having good experience and some had certifications too. All the teachers were of more than 5-8 years experience. Few teachers were new to the college but they had good way of explaining. Some of them were good but they were not able to explain things in a good way and that made the lecture boring. They were around 50 teachers we had been thought by in our 4 years of B. Tech. The average age would be around 35-40.
