My Review

the curriculum in SRM is not at all research based nothing in SRM is research based but the marking scheme is fair and very helpful in securing the campus placements yes there are atleast a couple industrial visits in the 4 years of the graduation period

the placement scenario of the college is pretty good i think an average student can get around 5-6 lakhs per annum the institution gives special coding classes to prepare the students for placements

aarush - national level technomanagement fest milan - cultural fest all the important festivals like diwali pongal id chouristmas etc there are also different bazaars organised by management department aarush and milan are also pretty popular festivals

expensive srm is a typical for profit university so there is nothing much that you can expect from them there are so many additional charges other than tuition there is exam fees breakage fees which you have to pay every semester also there is placement fess of around 10 k which we have to pay in the final year to sit in the placement if you got admitted on the merit then the fees will be around 3.5 lakh and then this additional charges every sem of around 6-7 k

no there are no scholarships but the top 3 students in each department get some amount upto 1 lakh there is also sports quota

gender ratio of our college is not so good but there but there is a good diversity the sport opportunities is good there are cultural societies the tolerance is okay i guess for the people from different places but the crowd in our college is not so accepting i think of the homosexual people

no yes it is sharing hostel but many people choose to stay at the nearby flats not pg there is a good townships available nearby on which you can get a good deal i stay in a township where i pay around 25 k rent and share it with 6 others

no there is no kind of alumni network but there are events organised by college where they invite the successful students

I GAVE SRMJEE entrance exam and got into merit list for the convocation process i chose ECE because i was interested in semiconductors and microelectronics due to my general category i didn’t get into any government institute so i searched for the private institute and srm was among the best

the faculty at srm is good enough so that a student with enough drive to learn can be a very good engineer the average age of the lecturers might be around 40 i think and the professors might be around 50 the professor has good expertise in the respective subjects but caught in between the politics of the management so overall not so good
