Remarks

The teaching standard could have been better and the placement drive should attract more corporations and companies

Course Curriculum Overview

1.5

The UG course is of 4 years duration consisting of 8 semester (each semester 6 month long). The administration offers you every relevant laboratory and workshop to access your innovations and grow yourself. Moreover they organize a placement drive each year for the final year students

Placement Experience

1

I wouldn't rate the placement of my college very high since most of the atudents graduating from this college have to find themselves a job or study further to crack several recruitment exams to egt a decent job

College Events

2.5

You get to see no. Of events in the January session every year like SACA, FIMBD etc. Several culurural events are also organized like Durga Pooja or Akhand Path. Various festivals namely Kite festival(popularly known as Basant panchami locally), Diwali and couple of more events are organized each year by the organizing committees

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee steucture is quite expensive. You need to pay around 55000 Rupees each semester which makes around 110000 Rupesses annually. They include travel charges within the fee which they never provided when I was studying. You get decent quality education paying this sum of money.

Fees and Financial Aid

If you are trying to enter this college via scholarship then you will need to contact the bank administration that can offer you some kind of student koan which you can repay after you graduate

Campus Life

4

The campus life is pretty amazing. You get to experience every little thing that you expect from a good reputed college abd that's necessary for the upbringing and development of individuals on their own. Talking about the gender ratio, I'd say its not that levelled since there are 5 boys for each girl. The college organizes functions, sports meet, festivals and concerts

Hostel Facilities

2

No. Actually I was a day scholar, so I used to travel each day on my 4-Wheeler But if you need to get accomodation in one of those hostels, you get option either to choose single room, double or triple, depending upon your personal sophistication and requirements

Alumni/Alumna

The seniors are quite helpful in solving your issues or helping you get used to the environment and the faculty

Admission

The admission to thus college is a Two-Step process. 1. You take the Engineering exam 2. You sign yourself up for the university counselling to opt this college It has a decetly large campus of around 99 acres providing every facility. The campus is mostly green and always having the latest courses and techniques

Faculty

2

The faculty of SBSSTC is highly qualified. Some of them are even IIT graduates persuing their Ph.d from IIT or similar colleges. I would say the average age of permanent faculty would be around 45 years. You also get some new remporary faculties doing their internships or those who are trying to get a decent job teaching the students

The average placements are 12-14LPA in the Computer Science branch. Every year, hundreds of companies, including Pvt and govt both. PSUs like HPCL and BPCL recruit students based on merit and academic excellence.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I’d rate the curriculum like 7/10 in terms of relevance and comprehensiveness — it covers all the major CSE subjects like DSA, OS, DBMS, CN, AI, ML, Cloud, Cybersecurity basics, etc., and honestly that was one of the reasons I chose this course because at least the core subjects are solid even if PTU keeps some old-school stuff in the syllabus. The curriculum does prepare you for real-world stuff, but only to a point — like, if you focus on coding labs and projects you’ll be fine for internships, but if you depend only on classroom theory then it won’t help much because industry wants hands-on skills. For higher studies also it’s okay because theory depth in subjects like OS and DBMS is decent enough. But yeah, improvements are definitely needed — some subjects feel outdated, teachers should use more practical examples, and we need more real projects instead of copy-paste lab manuals; also some faculty teach directly from slides which gets boring fast. Exams come twice per semester (sessionals) plus the final end-sem around December/May; they’re mostly easy if you write long answers, but tricky if you rely only on understanding because PTU likes theory-heavy questions. Overall, the system works, but it could be way more practical and industry-focused.

Placement Experience:

Placements are not that good. Although companies come, there is a lack of mass recruiters or reputed organizations. One has to grind hard here for placements. If you're a CS student, you will have to face immense competition here. As for core branches, placements are severely dry. Students gets eligible in 4th year onwards for placements. Some of recruiters here are Trident, TCS, Reliance, Sonalika and other few. Every company offers around 10-15 selected students for a job. Highest package ever was 15LPA and average is 3.2LPA. Percentage placed is only around 15% here. My plans after the degree are to apply for govt exams.

The interest in coding influenced me to choose this subject and course. The curriculum gets me ready for a 9-5 job which kind of gets hectic. The teachers could maybe schedule classes to give the students time to study what they want to and if they wish to do a course outside the university they have the time to do so rather than just going by the university curriculum
