Remarks

The college infrastructure in recent times has improved under the leadership of new campus administrator. Management as such is quite slow in taking decisions as the Pune has to approve all the ideas or recommendations. Female dominant faculty and hence we see many times cold war between them.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

Symbiosis has got one of the best curriculum and operations was no different. Very intensive in 1st and 2nd sem and many internship opportunities in 3rd and 4th sem. The course is constantly revised and quite updated. You also get hands on various operations software like SAP, R, Minitab, SPSS, etc. You have research opportunities with good facility of extensive online and offline library. HBR, Gartner, Online Premium books are all provided on need basis.

Placement Experience

4.5

Placement has been good when I talk about the profiles. One thing in which SIOM stands out is getting good relevant profiles for the candidates. Salary is quite humble in start but enough to cover ROI. But recent placements have been really great and getting better average packages than competitive colleges

College Events

4

TEDx SIUNashik, Drishti, Tattv, RCOSCM, Mock Investor Summit, Multiple Conclaves. To start with in first year we have Tattv in first sem followed by RCOSCM, Mock Investor Summit and Drishti in second sem. Most of the work is done by first year guys. The seniors have quite chilled schedule with just TEDx and Conclaves to organise. Second year guys have multiple internship opportunities apart from summer internship.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Feasibile but it has been increasing recently as the college in now providing Six Sigma Black Belt certification by KPMG. Honestly it is quite high when accounted in actual terms but comparable to other Symbiosis college. The college has tie-up with few loan providers and hence it's easy to get one.The fees has to be paid semester wise.

Fees and Financial Aid

The toppers in each sem are given 50% academic fee discount in the respective sem. No other scholarship available so far

Campus Life

3.5

The campus is compact one, around 1.75 acres. The recent campus admin has really optimized the campus being a operations college. A well build Badminton facility, Table Tennis, Pool table, Basketball Court is available. You have a open area to play cricket as well. There is a common study room and campus cafe(Symbieat) open till 11 usually and late during exams. There is one inhouse Xerox and stationary center. Talking about crowd, all are Engineers and hence usually single. Male to female ratio usualy varies sometimes from 50-50 to 90-10. Being a compact campus there is lot of interactions and we get a family at the end. Talking Nashik, then I can write a book on how beautiful and serene Nashik is. The weather is all the time cool. There is lot of beautiful nature of see and explore around, good treks, great temples and party places as well. All options are available on "College Road" in the heart of the city. I totally love Nashik and if given opportunity would settle there.

Hostel Facilities

4

The hostel is mandatory for everyone even if you stay nextdoor to the college. There 2 hostels buildings. One with all boys and other with boys and girls both but separated. Boys and girls can't go to otherwise hostels. Each room has 3 students with attached bathouroom and wifi facility. We have enjoyed a lot in those hostels and have many memories.

Alumni/Alumna

The college is very strict in terms of ragging. The seniors are very helpful when seeked and are decent enough in providing quality guidance.

Admission

I gave multiple MBA entrance exams like CAT, SNAP, XAT, NMAT,IIFT, CET, etc. SNAP and CAT qualified me for interview rounds in few colleges like IRMA, SIIB, SIOM, KJ Somaiya, MICA, where I qualified in all except KJ. Finally operations was something that interested me and I confirmed my admission in SIOM

Faculty

3.5

Faculty is something not upto the mark and the college has been struggling a lot in getting good permanent faculties. Although we have good visiting faculties and plenty of resource for self study. Nashik is one of the constraint to get permanent faculties, other being single small campus with no residential facilities for lecturers.

The placements here are decent. For internship the record stands still at 100% and for the final pacements its 95% for all the eligible students. If there wouldn't have been any placements here, I would've opted for the employement outside on my own as I have personal contacts and references in the bfsi industry.
