Remarks

As far as academic record is concerned it's worth applause. Managements is slow responsive but at the same time rational in it's approach and future plans. There are, however, some problem with hostel being indulged with anti social activities and goons residing there.

Entrance Preview

B N College (Patna University) takes a college level entrance test for B. Sc. Biotechnology Vocational Course. No negative marks. The selected students are then screened through an Interview session. Questions are from 10th, 11th and 12th class. There are 30 seats.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The undergraduate course curriculum is very precise and effective for one who wants to pursue higher education (M.Sc. or Ph.D.). Laboratories are not that good. Recently B.Sc. Biotechnology, Department of Botany has received a grant for setting up a Tissue Culture Laboratory, quite unique in the region. Active research is expected to boost the regional agricultural inspirations. There are vocational and traditional courses for Arts, Commerce and Science streams.

Internships Opportunities

In general there is no such scheme. Interested students, however, may contact concerned faculties. The faculty may allow the student based on merit.

Placement Experience

4

As B.Sc. Biotechnology is a self sponsored vocational course placement and job training is emphasized. Training courses are included as a part of curriculum. Final year students have to opt for an additional course for entrepreneurship development. One Needs to contact college placement cell. HT campus and other agencies organised placement camps. BBA course got maximum placement and response. Commerce got equal response.

Fees and Financial Aid

All UGC fellowships can be availed by eligible candidates. Besides government schemes for ST, SC is available.

Campus Life

3

Gender ratio is appreciable. Time to time competitions are organised. Laboratories are somewhat good with some very good equipment. Science exhibitions are organised. NCC and National Service Scheme is functional. College participates at University level (PU) Sports and Cultural Competition.

Alumni/Alumna

Alumni Network is very strong. Some are scientists and successful entrepreneurs. They often visit college campus and interact with students. Students may contact them on social network or through emails.

Exam Structure

Final Exams are conducted each year for vocational and traditional courses. College may endorse semester system in near future. Exams are very clean and smooth. Practical Exams are not that good as most experiments are incomplete due to poor laboratory infrastructure. Practical Marks rely heavily on viva.

Faculty

4

The Best part of this course is it's dedicated and qualified faculties. They are specialized on their subjects. Students and Alumni are placed at renowned labs and institutions here in India and abroad. They take personal care for each and every student. Faculties even assist students to apply for higher courses in various institutions and take various national level eligibility tests.

Course Curriculum Overview:

As I mentioned regarding the Botany subject, I chose Botany because I thought it would be useful after college. I come from a farming family, and the subjects taught in college are generally designed to be very relevant to practical life. However, I learned that colleges tend to focus more on theoretical knowledge and less on practical application. They should give equal importance to practical learning as well.

In our college, studying about positive things is very good, sports are live, this is all a very good thing. In our college, boy and girl are given equal status. It is very good thing and there is a gullible tea about negatives. There is a little dress problem in our college, there is no dress in our college. In my college, I wish Trace was that all the children are same or not. It is a college child that should be recognized. If the child is seen on the net in our college, then his problem is there.
