Remarks

The course structure is crude and has a lot of room for development. The main management of the University can be more involved in the activities of the college, which is usually not favoured or given priority when it comes to providing any permissions and facilities as compared to other premium institutes in the campus that have been there since many years.

Course Curriculum Overview

3

The Course Curricular currently is still in development process and is at an early stage since the institute is only four years old. It is based on the educating students about the Sports Industry from a management perspective. Barring a few necessary management subjects, most of the curriculum is practical and based on field-work and hands-on activities. The course is still in it's crude form, but is preparing students well for the industry, allowing them to meet like minded students and exchange ideas and information.

Placement Experience

2.5

After completion of first two semesters out of four, students go for a two-month summer internship in various companies that work in domains like sports events, sports technology or sports marketing. This equips the students with certain skillset and it helps them experience the happenings of the industry from a close range. Last semester focuses on placements as companies start to arrive on campus for interviews, most of them also asking students to come to office for final interviews.

College Events

4

Symbifit, biggest sports and fitness event in the entire Symbiosis family. National Sports Science Congress, one of the biggest sports congresses held in the country. Various cultural and management events are held thouroughout the year. Students can also be a part of the festivals conducted by other colleges in the campus, such as SIBM, SIDTM and SIMC.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is fairly reasonable for an MBA program. With fully residential structure, total fees comes to around 9.75 lakhs for the duration of whole course which includes accomodation, food and all other services available in the campus. The college accepts all modes of payment ranging from NEFT/RTGS, to cheque and cash payments. The admission is purely based on merit and there is no other hidden payment involved. The fee-breakdown is pretty transparent.

Fees and Financial Aid

The college offers scholarships to students meritorious in the field of sports and academics. The batch topper from each semester gets 80,000/- reduced from his tuition fees. Also the college offers full scholarship for students who get selected for semester-abroad program at Leeds Beckett University which they have a tie-up with. Students who excel in sports are also eligible for scholarships.

Campus Life

4.5

The gender ratio is fairly balanced. It is a very healthy and lively atmosphere for college students in this campus. There are lot of students coming in from different parts of India as well as other countries. The campus is strictly intolerant to ragging and any activities that can harm a student physically or mentally. There are students of various ethnicities, race and religions who study together in the campus. The campus has councelling facilities available free of cost to students who might find it useful in times of need.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

The MBA program is a residential one and all the students live on-campus. The quality of the hostels is one of the best in the country with all possible facilities provided inside the rooms. Sharing options range from two sharing, thouree sharing, four sharing and dormitory. There are cleaners appointed for regular cleaning and hygiene, WIFI is provided all around the campus. Mess food is available for four meals a day, which includes breakfast, lunch, snacks and dinner. Other facilities which the students can pay and avail are few shops where all basic foodstuffs, snacks, drinks, toiletries, fruits, etc is available. There is a salon and spa available inside the campus.

Alumni/Alumna

Two batches have passed out of this institute so far, most of which are working directly in the industry, with some percentage of students pursuing their own start-ups for the same. They have built networks in the market and have been resourceful in terms of spreading awareness about the need of qualified professionals in the industry of sports.

Admission

The entrance exam is SNAP, usually held in November and common to all institutes of Symbiosis for PG admissions. The admission process begins in February right after the merit list is declared. Students go thourough a GE-PIWAT process, which includes Group Exercises, Writing Ability Test and Personal Interview.

Faculty

3.5

Thouree in-house faculties with visiting faculty for each subject that we have in our semester based course. Their average age would be around 35-40 years. Most of the professors we have hold a PhD in their respective domains and are pioneers in the industry. Many of them are not teachers by profession, but their passion for sports brings them into the institute to share ideas, give a perspective from the ground reality and let students know how exactly it is out in the corporate world.

Placement Experience:

1) students become eligible for placements just after they complete their second semester examinations 2) only local companies visited to our colleges such as per Pooja, weblink services etc which were very small scale local organisations offering very poor packages to the students 3) the average package that my batch got was 2.lakhs per annum and the highest was 6 lpa where before admission the college claimed the average packages to be 6lpa and Highest to be above 10lpa 4) the percentage of students getting placed is not more than 10-15% 5)my plans after getting the degree is to look for better companies outside my college because my college hasn't been helpful in terms of placements in any manner .
