Remarks

Whatever may it be the staffs and the organisation gives the control to the students to carry on whatever they like whatever may it be a cultural event, tour, symposium.

Entrance Preview

No separate entrance for this course only separate counselling was held need to get applications of the course separately and apply for it. Application forms will be provided Anna University's home page. The minimum cut off is 180/200 to apply for the course. Nothing but Anna University's main campus reputation and fame made me choose this course.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The curriculum consists of 10 Semesters in Information technology out of which 12 months(6 months in 7th semester and 10th semester) of internship should be taken in an organisation outside of college campus.

Internships Opportunities

Internship was helpful to get easier placements in the final semester, some people who got internships got converted into permanent employees 7th Sem, 1st Internship , Caterpillar ( 10k) (converted to employees), Symantec(10k), Intel(17k) ( conveted to employees), Morgan Stanley(Mumbai 33k), CTS(13k)10th Sem, 2nd InternshipCTS(15k), Thorogood(20k) ( conveted to employees), Intel(17k), Chargebee(15k) ( conveted to employees).

Placement Experience

4

Placment is the greatest advantage of being in such a reputed institution i was not holding good % and had a few back logs too to be eleigible to get into a decent service based company like accenture, Infosys, Wipro, CTS, TCS, IBM the student should hold a minimum of 65% without backlogs. I was holding 69% and got into accenture and this was the status in 2013. Package 3.3 L pa accenture was the bulk recruiter in 2013, recruiting around 550 candidates( BE, ME/MTECH, MSc). The next most recruited was IBM 330 candidates), Package :3.6 L pa. Next was Infosys(220 candidates). Package : 3.25 Lpa and for those toppers : securing more than 90% marks, few(in counts of 1 or 2 in every class, none in our class) got into CISCO, Microsoft, Morgan Stanley, Google, HP, Dell I am pointing only IT related companies as I know less about the core engg companies that recruited.

College Events

4.5

The main technical symposium conducted by anna university kurukshetra is well know among all colleges in tamilnadu and also in some colleges in north india, since its conducted in par with the events as in IIT. The main cultural event TECHOFES is known around all colleges in tamilnadu, since cine stars are invited to the events as chief guests and the are more events organised in a well structured manner.

Fees and Financial Aid

This course is not governmentt aided its a self financing course and we were not eligible to get even the general scholarship there are few scholarships for the toppers in the class and will cover around 60k per year the semester fees is comparably high as not supposed to be in a govt college, 20,500rs per semester ie, 41K per year as semester fees additionally 300Rs per subject for exam fees.

Campus Life

4

The best thing about the college is the independance we had no strict dress code policy enjoy socially with your co-genders more cultural events and department symposiums conducted by each and every dept in the college( there are around 21 departments in the college) it would be good time to interact with the people who come from colleges all around from tamilnadu to attend these events.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

Dont expect much with the hostel facility hostel room needs to be shared with 3-4 people students are free to go out and come to the hostel any time and no strict rules followed. Mess food is bearable to some extent, and takes some time to get used to it and about the fees, its comparably lower to other private colleges, mine added to 25 K( accomodation + mess) for an year.

Alumni/Alumna

The strongest aspect here is the network with the alumnus and the senior students seniors are the best link with which we got good placements. We have alumi meeting every year and some career helpful talks and discussions volunteered by some senior every month with interest we have formed some societies organised by students to help juniors in academics and to teach some technical skills.

Faculty

3.5

Faculties are good for maths subjects and for IT related subjects dealt mostly by fresh research scholars( currently resuming Ph.D), self learning is much expected, cant depend on staffs.Covering 18-25 credits of courses in each sem the total course covers 105 credits( ie 1 hour of subject handling for every credit in a week, so 18-25 hours of classes in a week, which is pretty much less hours compared to other engg stream courses in the college)Key Subjects : Data Structures, Digital Signal Processing, Distributed Computing, Digitam Image processing, Operating Systems, OOPS, JAVA and Lab courses in all of these.

Placement Experience:

From the last previous semester, students can avail themselves of campus interviews. Students who have Harriers are not given opportunities because it's in the companies criteria. Cognizant, Zoho, Infosys, Wipro. Every year at least 10 students get selected. Average is 10,000-15,000 per month 10-15% of students getting placed. I plan to study for competitive exams like UPSC.
