Remarks
Very well known college, one of the most recognised college of Gujarat. Faculties are very experienced and helping. Good opportunities for developing one self in academic and extracurricular activities. Research work is encouraged. Infrastructure not sufficient for the students. Not enough canteen space or space to sit and discuss subjects. Toilets and washourooms are in worst condition. For almost 1000 students not even 10 functioning toilets available.
Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum is spread over span of 4.5 years. 1st and second year comorise basic medical science subjects while rest year encompasses the clinical aspects. Exams are taken very frequently by college administration and University takes exam at the end of each professional year. One has to work very hard from the beginning to cope up with lengthy curriculum.
Placement Experience
College curriculum is attached with compulsory 1 year internship with stipend of 13000 per month. Internship comprises of clinical rotations in different specialities in hospitals attached with college. No placements are provided from college.
College Events
A cultural fest comprising of sporting events, different competition, star loaded celebrity concerts. And much more exciting activities organised by students for the students. So many students from various colleges participate in it. AMCON Medical research conference Entirely concentrated on worksops, paper presentation and lectures from various dignitaries.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Pretty much expensive. If one takes admission in general quota the fee is 6 lac per annum, which should be paid in two installments every 6 months. Online payment and cheque optiom are available Currently around 6 lac per annum
Campus Life
Gender ratio, as always females are higher in number. Most of the students are from medical family background. There are no parties or anything happening. Everything happens during ADRENALINE Cultural festival. All students and administration are very tolerant and welcoming towards all religions, races, ethnicity. No discrimination has been done
Alumni/Alumna
Back in the days, when batch size was 150 there were pretty good bonding between junior and senior. It's kind of family. Very helpful seniors. Don't know about current scenario though. There is a social network of alumni. But not active enough
Admission
Back at my time admission was based on 4 semesters' marks (40%. Weightage) and Gujcet marks. Merit was made based on this. Nowadays it solely depends on NEET-UG marks and merit list. There are some seats reserved for all india quota which are filled via central counseling (i.e All india counseling)
Faculty
One can not say all of them are perfect. But there are some faculties which stand out different from the rest, who really care about academics and our future. Some professors are really into encouraging student for research activities. And there are some professors who are satisfied in just by reading out power point slides out loud.
