- There are many reading halls where you can study on your own.
- The canteen has many food items available.
Dislikes
- The bathrooms are unsanitary, there's sometimes a dog entering inside.
- There's barely any campus in our college.
- There's scope for the infrastructure to be improved.
Course Curriculum Overview
I was interested in learning about my own body and how it works since a young age because I used to get sick a lot and still have a weak immunity. The curriculum prepares me to treat people and help them as well as myself to live a better standard of life with my own skills. The improvements could be to include more clinical aspects in our course besides theory. The theory exams are for 3 hours along with practicals every 3 months and they're moderately difficult to score well in.
Internships Opportunities
As I'm still in 2nd year, I'm unfortunately not aware of what all are internships provided in our college. They start after final year and you get a good stipend as far as what I've heard from my seniors.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee structure is constant and there's no hike. The complete cost is 5,90,000 rupees annually with no extra charges. You can apply for scholarship after providing details of your family income which shouldn't exceed a limit. There are clinical postings in the morning starting from 2nd year in various hospitals. However there's no stipend.
Campus Life
We have freshers event where you have to dress up according to the theme for a week. There's also event conducted for choosing Mr and Ms. Freshers. They're held early semester. There's another fest called adrenaline where there are stage performances, fun sports and other activities. Stand up comedians are also invited. There's a conference every year called AMCON where doctors attend from prestigious colleges and hospitals all over India to talk about different topics of the medical field. Poster presentations are done to also support research work of fellow students. It's very informative and worth of your time. There's a student group in our college which conducts social work in our city from time to time.
Admission
The admission process was a bit exhausting but it was probably the heat. I took NEET exam and I was getting the college I want in the first round itself. The cut off changes every year. You can find the application form and other details in the college website. There are reservation benefits for scheduled tribes, castes, obc and people with lower socio economic status. They have a lower cutoff but the fees is same for all. Anyone can join with management quota as well which also has lower cutoff but the fees is more. There was no other medical entrance exam. I don't think any improvement is needed.
Faculty
Some faculties are really good and there are a lot many faculties for every subject. So you don't have to worry if you don't like someone's teaching style. The faculties are open to solve doubts of students and suggest good teaching material as well. We also got out own mentors starting this year with whom there's a meeting scheduled every 2 months where we can share our issues or any sort of problem with the course curriculum.
