Remarks

My college was a fantastic place to learn more things in a wider manner with the help of my well educated lecturers. But some things like placement, personality development classes were not created even now. It was a major drawback for the present students while they come out from the college and know about the real, outer world.

Course Curriculum Overview

3

The course curriculum covers the necessary information about the external environment which I am looking now. The syllabus was relevant. The faculties had plenty of knowledge in their field. I pursued higher studies in Master of Arts in Economics Discipline.

Placement Experience

0.5

In my college, there was no active-placement cell available. Students were totally got the struggle about this issue at that time. If that college might arrange for the placements during that time, most of my classmates and also I can get a better job than this. No, my college does not take any special steps to prepare the students for the placement season.

College Events

4.5

Inter College Culturals - It was a fantastic program which was conducted among the arts and science colleges in and around Thiruvarur district. The program has many variations like solo dance, group dance, singing, speech competition, Essay writing, Poetry, Drawing etc. Hostel Day - It was also a great program held every year in that college campus. The rooms were decorated with variety of flowers and decorative items like balloons etc.

Fee Structure And Facilities

I was a student who studied my graduation and post graduation degree through GOVERNMENT SCHOLARSHIPS. It was a Government College which consumes low amount of fees for each and every course available in that college. There were additional fees like breakage fees, lab fees, exam fees etc. in that college during the early 1990's.

Fees and Financial Aid

I was selected for getting Scholarships during that time. It was given by the Tamil Nadu Government to various students under the reservation quota. The college helps the students to get the scholarship from the state and central government and helps them to get those amount directly to their bank account. There was no hidden things involved.

Campus Life

4

The college contains more number of students from various religions, caste, languages etc. In that college, mostly Men students were high in number. Because during that time, no girl students were allowed to study college. Sports played an important role in my college life. Kabbadi was very famous that time. It was a group sport. And other than sports events like speech competition, poetry telling competition etc had conducted.

Hostel Facilities

2

No. I did not choose hostel. I stayed in my realtive's house during my studies. I got to know about the hostel rooms by my friends who were hostellers. It was not so much of neat and cleany hostel. The toilet and bathrooms were common. One ostel room was occupied by three students.

Alumni/Alumna

No. I do not have any contact right now with that college. Alumni meet were not conducted till I graduated. And I do not have any contacts with my college seniors during my academic period. My college time was filled with full of fun and also I learnt more about the statistics, economics, accounts and all the stuffs.

Admission

I got the direct admission in that college. I chose this course because I had lots of interest to know about the external environment. The admission procedure was so simple at that time. Apply for a course in that college through application form and HSC Mark sheet. After that I got the seat through reservation quota.

Faculty

4

There were 7 lecturers during my academic period. They were between the age of 28 to 40 during that time. They were well educated who holds M.Phil., Ph.D., in Economics Department. Macro economics were taught by our Head of the Department and other subjects Finance, Accounts were taught by other lecturers. I think they had no industrial experiences.
