Review about NIT Trichy

The institute gave us the best college life one could ever get. We were exposed to extreme fun and extreme pressure on the other end. Even though we had lots of stress, with the help of healthy friends circle, the college life turned out to the fruitful part of our lives.

Course curriculum was vast, covering all aspects of civil engineering and we got both theoretical and practical knowledge with hands on experience. We were given with lots of assignments and for engineering drawing, we were given with lots of submissions. The exam structure was relevant any research driven as all the questions were set as application oriented to make sure that we understand the concept.

The placement is totally upto the mark and the placement rate is above 85% overall for all the departments. Internships are also provided by the campus itself. However students can try on their own. Around 300-350 companies visit our companies for internships and placements for all the courses in our institute. Most of the companies follow an aptitude test, group discussion and personal interview (2-3 rounds) as the procedure for selection process. Even PSUs such as Indian oil, CPCL, GAIL come for placements. Institute's placement cell with the help of placement representatives conducts mock apti test, GD and PI in order to prepare the students for their placement preparation from their third year.

Festember- annual cultural festival of NIT Trichy, total participation across various states of our country- approx 3500 Pragyan- annual techno management fest of NIT Trichy, total participation from all over nation. Approx- 3500 NITTFEST- annual inter department fest of NIT Trichy All the 10 departments hold symposium and about 2000 students from various colleges participate the events and workshops conducted Sportsfete- annual inter department sports fest of NIT Trichy.

Fee Structure is feasible. It is according to MHRD and with relevance to split up for the category ( general/ OBC, SC and ST) Mode of payment is through SBI i collect and net banking. There is no need to pay any additional fees to secure a seat in our institute. The fee breakdown is put up in the website for everyone's knowledge.

I didn't opt for any education loan. Scholarships were provided to families who have before 4 lakhs as their annual income.

Gender ratio is not too bad for an engineering College. Extracurricular activities are the best at our institute. We're given freedom to explore our talents and exhibit them too at the right platform. Apart from entertainment, we have many technical clubs and events to enhance our technical knowledge. There were never gender bias except for curfew. No instance of discrimination against race, religion, politics, family background etc. Our campus is one of the best place to enjoy the college life.

Yes. For first two years, it's three sharing. Third year is two sharing and for final year it is single room. Each year will be staying in seperate hostel to avoid ragging at any cost. The hostel facilities are upto the mark and we've got a night canteen inside the hostel premises as girl students are not allowed to stay outside the hostel during the curfew time.

College seniors are really helpful even when they became the alumni of our institute. Our institute has got a stronger connect of alumni network and various events are conducted all around the year

Got admission through JEE mains conducted on April. Got the first round in June 1st week and finally locked the course (civil) I was alloted to. I opted civil because I had no other choice as I made a mistake in choice filling and the final authorities advised me to choose civil as the course has got greater scope than chemical engineering course. Admission process started on June 4 and I joined in July 27

For our department there are around 30 faculties ranging from 28-70 age group. In total, 12 lectures handled the B Tech course. All of them hold PhD degree. They clarify all the doubts within the class hours and sometimes when the time doesn't permit, they clarify after the class hours. Most of the higher level lecturers hold industry experience and few hold certification.
