Remarks

The college is good for those who just want to complete their graduation and get a graduation certificate. But for those enthusiasts who want some unique and innovative area/culture then they will regret for getting admitted into this college. So overally from my side as I am a bonafide student of this college I will stay on behalf of this college but as this college is situated in a smart city like Bhubaneswar so gradual development in both academic and placement sectors is not going to stop. So if an individual joins this college then there is not so much to regret about.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

The course curriculum is prepared being synchronized with the GATE syllabus. So by completely studying according to the course curriculum one can be at least prepared at the base level for attempting the GATE examination at once without taking any external coaching. If one takes the course syllabus seriously into account and starts studying profoundly from day 1 then he/she can definitely assured of cracking GATE examination at once or maximum twice. The practical/ Lab section of the course curriculum is designed to provide industry-specific knowledge to the students, which in return helps in getting various students placed in various core companies like Maruti Suzuki, L&T, etc and non-core companies like Cognizant, Tata Consultancy Services, Infosys, etc. Also from 3rd year industrial visits are organized for the students.

Placement Experience

3

The placement area of this college is good enough for getting into some non-core as well as some core companies. The Training&Placement Cell of the college is working very hard gradually for engaging companies for recruitment of large number of students. The various core companies visited to the college campus are- Maruti Suzuki, L&T, etc and other non-core or Software companies are- Infosys, TCS, Wipro, Accenture, Cognizant, etc. Although I haven't taken any internships till now but the internship procedure is very simple in this college. One who is willing for taking an internship just have to contact to the Training and Placements Cell of the college and that's it. Then the T&P Cell manages everything and instructs the individual what to do next. Also the college provides special training programs for Placements during the end of 3rd year or starting of 4th year.

College Events

4

Various technical and cultural events are held every year in our college. Some technical events are - dig the web, electrivia, maze run, robo dangal, etc and some of the cultural events are - paintball, futsal, zorbing, twister, etc. The main technical fest organized in our college is called as PERCEPTION and the cultural fest of the college is named as XTASY. Everytime huge participation of students is observed.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Here in this college there are mainly 2 categories of branches. First are the government funded branches and the second type of branches are the Self Sustaining Branches(Computer Science Branch and Information Technology Branch). The core branches like Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, etc have a fee structure of Rs 37,000(approx) per year and the Self Sustaining Branches have a fee structure of Rs 75,000(approx) per year. The payments can be made by either online through net banking or by using debit cards and credit cards or by offline mode i.e through Challan System. Initially at the time of admission some small additional fees has to be paid for securing an admission into this college. The college provides transparency in the fee-breakdown.

Fees and Financial Aid

No I haven't obtained for any scholarship or education loan. Yes, the college provides scholarship opportunities to the students. It is called as the CET Merit Scholarship. Under this scholarship every top 10% of the students in 1st year are provided with a scholarship of Rs.4,800 annually and for students from 2nd to 4th year they are provided with a scholarship of Rs.10,000 annually. The eligibility criteria for the CET Merit Scholarship is that the students should not have applied for any other scholarship or educational loan.

Campus Life

3

This college witnesses a surge in the number of students every year. In this college the gender ratio is almost near to one. Every year various cultural, technical as well as annual sports. The technical fest of our college is Perception and the annual cultural fest of the college is Xtasy. The annual sports festival held in our college is named as THE ENGINEER'S CUP.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

No I haven't opted for hostel. But in this college there are 2 boys hostels and 2 girls hostels. The 2 Boys hostels are Ramanujan Hall of Residence and APJ Abdul Kalam Hall of Residence. The 2 Girls hostels are Kalpana Chawla Hall of Residence and Kasturba Devi Hall of Residence. The hostel rooms are spacious and each hostel room can accommodate 3 students. Each hostel room has 3 beds with 2 windows each on adjacent walls for ventilation.

Alumni/Alumna

At my first year I was thinking that there is ragging here in this college. But the seniors are very friendly and helpful. They also assist us during our semester examinations. They also organize various branch fests and various technical as well as cultural events. But they do take some ragging fun with the hostelites. Rather than that they don't even take attention towards the day-scholars. They also have various technical clubs like Zairza, Enery Club, SAE Club which they manage very efficiently.

Admission

I got admitted into this college through JEE Mains Entrance Examination. I applied for the OJEE(ODISHA-JEE) Counselling process and selected various Odisha Government funded colleges in my list placing this college as my 1st preference. Usually the OJEE Counselling starts in the months July, August and lasts till August 16. I opted for this course so that I can gain an insight into the technological part of education. As I didn't got into any of the best NITs or IITs so I was bound to opt for this college as this is the next best after them in Odisha.

Faculty

2.5

There are about 100 teachers in our course. Most of them have done m.tech in various premier institutes like IIT, NIT, IIIT, etc. Even some of the professors are the college pass-out students. Most of the teachers are having expertise in their respective teaching field or subjects and are not multi-subjectwise active or knowing. Even some of the teachers are not expert in their individual teaching subjects and they get confused when asked about very high level questions on those subjects. But some teachers are there who speak up more than required in their respective teaching subjects, they have enormous knowledge about their teaching subjects and boast a huge collection of practical usage of the teaching subjects.

The timings for sem exams are 3 hours while for quiz tests its 30 minutes. The difficulty level is average of all the exams
