My college

Overall this college is a good place to spend our 20's age and we can have a good time enjoying here, at the same time gaining some knowledge, helpful for our life. Although it is every student's sole responsibility here to gain maximum amount of knowledge while in college and shouldn't expect staffs to spoon feed them everytime.

The course structure is not so good comparing other universities in India and other countries. Exams are conducted normally dividing marks into internal and external. The college days are quite free and not hectic.

The placement and jobs are not as far as expected compared to other colleges for post graduates, but under graduates are placed good in top companies through this college. Our departments helps us nice to work around internships.

The cultural fests celebrated in our college is not to par compared to other college in this campus. But the technical events conducted here are good and students from all over India come here to take part in the events regularly.

The fee structure is feasible here as this is a government college. For a m tech student like me I pay 11000 per semester and no extra fees are collected during the course of year, except for the exam fees.

I haven't applied for any loan or scholarship here. But here the Tamilnadu government offers scholarship for all students according to their family's annual income and caste. On average a student gets 10000 as scholarship from the government per year.

Extra curricular activities are excellent in this college. But lab facilities are quite naive here. Many equipments have not been maintained and most of them have become useless here. It would be good if the staffs working here take responsibility for the lab facilities.

I haven't opted for hostel. I am a day scholar. I live nearby the college within 10 kms vicinity. The travel between college and home is good and it takes about 30mins to reach there. If the traffic is low. It takes around 20 mins.

The one thing that is greatly appreciated about this college is the alumini association. They have records of all alumini and recently they conducted 75th year celebrations, gathering all the alumini possible and it was a great success. All the alumini were honoured by the college.

I got admission through an entrance exam called TANCET. I scored enough marks and got selected through counselling, conducted by the same university. I chose this course over others because I did chemical engineering in under graduate and so I chose this stream in post graduation.

The faculties working here are qualified good in their respective streams. But some of them do not work properly and blame the students, which happens everywhere so the faculty hiring process can be improved drastically.
