Remarks
A well reputed college with glorious past but an average campus placement. It was established in 1957, so it has a large number of alumni which are extremely successful in their respective careers. There are eleven branches for bachelors and some of them are not even available in other colleges of same reputation
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is slightly outdated. Nothing in the name of research. There should be more emphasis on technical education for knowledge in industry. Exams and labs are very frequent. Every month there is some mid sem Or practical or end sem Or assignments. It is quite exhaustingexhausting but that is the crux of engineering.
Placement Experience
No the college doesn't provide internship. You have to manage on your own. If you need some help about internship, do not expect anything from college. Placements are okayish. Most of the placements are from IT companies, many students get placed in them. As far as core companies are concerned, chances are very very less. In my branch only one or two companies come for placements and take only two to three students. Students who get placed are allowed to sit in every company and the same students keep getting selected so the number of placements is really low. Not everyone gets placed here.
College Events
Literary club organises literary fest. ISTE organies technical events every year. Various student chapters are active in the college. College has its own clubs and societies for students. Tedx events have been organized twice. Foundation day is celebrated every year on a large scale and alumni visit the campus.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Fee structure is a bit expensive as compared to government colleges but feasible as compared to more expensive private colleges. I would say it is comparable to medium fee private colleges. Fees for some brances is higher and less for some. For higher fee branches you have to pay twice a year once in both semesters. For lower fee branches you have to pay once a year.
Fees and Financial Aid
Many students I know have taken loans and pay fees using them. In my knowledge For paying fees by loan you have to make demand drafts but for others fees is submitted online. There are many scholarships too running in the institution. More chances if you belong to the reserved catagory. There would be scholarships for unreserved catagory too. Scholarships and schemes are regularly posted on the Institute website.
Campus Life
Gender ratio like other engineering colleges is not balanced but that is the story for every other engineering college. I feel the situation is better here. College doesn't have official freshers party for first year students but seniors provide it anyway. College however has an official farewell dinner for final year students. There are unofficial parties every year though. Hostel life is fun. All the festivals are celebrated with zeal and enthusiasm. Workshops are conducted for extra technical knowledge that can be gained practically.
Hostel Facilities
Hostel facilities is good. Mess food is fine. Rooms are on sharing basis you'll never get a single room in the hostel if you're looking for that you'll probably have to get a pg in the nearby area. Hostel seats are limited and are provided on merit basis. Hostel and mess fee is feasible comparable or lesser to what you would be paying if you live outside. Mess food is better than outside. There are a lot of pg and rental houses in the nearby area where most of the students living belong to same college.
Alumni/Alumna
Alumni network is helpful and extremely successful. The institution was set up in 1957, therefore there is a huge number of alumnus that are extremely successful in their careers. Seniors are helpful too. Every year alumni visit during college foundation day on 14th of November and are ready to help if some help is required.
Admission
I wanted to enroll for chemical engineering. It was the only government funded technical institution gfti in my state where chemical engineering was available for under graduation. So I decided to take admission here for BE chemical engineering.
Faculty
Faculty is qualified but a little partial. Most of the teachers have studied from the same Institute. Senior teachers have knowledge. Many teachers are from MHRD TEQUIP as well. They are knowledgeable too but some of the teachers are not interested in teaching.
