Overall the college if overcrowded, but there are alot of opportunities. Academically Computer science students get placement benefits than others. Non-academic stuff blooms here. Competition is high and you have to work on your own for best results.
Course Curriculum Overview
There are alot of exams.Almost monthly exams which extend till a week.Course structure is fine, but not dependable.Exams are held in form of cycle tests with semester exams at the end.The Exams And Labs Very Frequent Leaving You With A Hectic Day.
Placement Experience
A lot many companies come to SRM and also offer high packages but don't forget about the previous point.(Most) People here are just not competitive enough to get those good packages.Also, If you opt to sit for placements and you get a job, the college will refuse to give you a Letter of Recommendation if you later decide to study abroad (i.e while you are in college).Well, most students get a package around 4 lakhs pa.
College Events
Aaruush is a national level techno management fest of SRM University Kattankulathur. It's a 4 day fest and generally starts from the second week of September.Aaruush hosts a lot of events, (more than 50) comprising of both technical and management related domains. Milan is the National-Level Cultural Festival organised by the Directorate of Student Affairs of SRM Institute of Science and Technology.Milan is five day fest with a foray of events that spans extensively over a number of sporting events and multifarious music, dance and art events.

SRMJEEE merit rank holders get scholarships at the time of Admission.1-1000 get 75% discount 1001-2000 get 50% discount on tuition fees, 2001-3000 get 25%.apart from that students can also get concession based on great academic performance.
Campus Life
As an engineering college, the number of opportunities you get to prove yourself is extremely high.Don’t expect much from the faculty members.The campus is amazing.But, what ruins it all is SRM itself.They cannot limit their intake.They have to have 30,000+ students in the campus.Apart from that there is strictness in night time in the hostels.
Hostel Facilities
There are variety of hostels in SRM based on choice of 2-sharing or 3 or attached bathroom or AC.Separate hostels for seniors for boys.Mess food and laundry service is provided.Food is somewhat okay, quality is not that good.Other options are flats outside the campus.
Alumni/Alumna
Clubs give you opportunity to improve your communication skills,cooperate and work with others.it increases your approach to seniors and talk to them, other than that there are various meet-ups held for alumni student interaction.
Admission
SRMJEEE entrance exam is the main mode of admission.For Admission In B.Tech Srm University Chennai campus, it is compulsory to apply for the SRMJEEE entrance test and write the online entrance test.For SRM Delhi, Haryana, Sikkim campus you can also get admission on JEE mains score or class 12th entrance exams.
Faculty
50 % of faculty lack the presentation skills inspite of having knowledge but facilities are excellent, for eg: clubs give you opportunity to improve your communication skills,cooperate and work with others.Festivals for enjoyment Lab session to practice your skills
