Remarks

Lack of connectivity with urban areas. The college is 14 km from nearest city mirzapur which is not that developed , the two big cities are either varanasi or allahabad which are about 60-80 km far. The positive lies in the freshness and less noise in the campus.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

Course does not live upto the hype that is around the name BHU although exams are taken seriously and questions are hard and there is teeth to teeth competition. There are two exams in a term , a mid term of 30 marks and end term of 40marks and 30 for practicals.

Placement Experience

4.5

The placement is very good , not bragging but somehow the students excel and the name bhu attracts a lot of companies, even a mediocre students is able to secure job without hassle. The average package is around 5-6 lakhs.

College Events

3

There are not many events , events like disha (cultural fest ) happen in early feb where there is dance competition, singing , mono acting , literary events and all that shenanigans. There is also a sports meet for competition between various courses.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is feasible. The university fee is very less even the hostel charges is minimal. The university fee per sem is 2000 and a special course charge of 25000 per sem. There is no additional fee like exam fee or something.

Fees and Financial Aid

The university does not provide scholarship itself but accepts the ones provided by the state government or central government and almost all of them. There is provision of fee waiver for economically weak students.

Campus Life

4

There is not much room for extra curricular activities as most of the time you'll be studying but if yiu can manage your time there are facilities for sports , a free gym even your healthcare is covered and is free. The labs on the other hand are not that great.

Hostel Facilities

4

Yes we live in hostel , and i won't lie this hostel ( arawali) is great in infrastructure. The basic amenities are covered easily while for cleanliness you'l have to keep nagging the attendant. The hostel provides you two seater or three seater depending on your course. For me it is two seater though.

Alumni/Alumna

The alumni network is good , there is a reunion for alumni organized by the universities different courses where you can meet and solve all yoir queries regarding your career choices. Seniors are really helpful sometimes more helpful than the professors.

Admission

We give an exam ( UET ) held by the university itself , after qualifying there is counseling and if all required criteria are met you are admitted. The competition is tough for entrance as large no. Of students apply.

Faculty

3

The faculty in inexperienced and slacking but then that's the case in almost every government colleges. The teachers do not stay for long as most of them are Phd scholars in bhu. Some teachers come from main campus also.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choose bsc bioinformatics as I love programming and research sector as I took pcb in 11th ... I couldn't go for btech ... But then I researched and found about this course which need computer skills with biology background.. a perfect match for someone like me.. after the pandemic and technical growth in biology sector .. bioinformatics became one of the most growing area .. In india it's rare to find people know about this is even a sector so yeah less competition and big opportunities to work abroad .. But I am pursuing this course in this college which have very bad curriculum..the faculty isn't proper to teach us about bioinformatics and we are just study the syllabus of biotech in a mixed class ... I will rate it's a bad idea to pursue bioinformatics from Swami vivekanand subharti university...
