My College

Our college has zero ragging facilities and is easily accessible from Chennai and it's airport too. It also has a village nearby called Potheri which is basically for us and our needs. A negative I don't like is many students are very easily addicted to bad habits here.

Course curriculum is similar to that of many colleges in Tamilnadu state and is affiliated with Anna University I guess. It's same old curriculum with some modifications called the electives. The exam structure is like u have to write three internal exams along with 2 tests as internals and a final exam as externals.

I have heard that placements are held for students starting from 6th semesters. Many mass recruitments come to the campus to hire students. Some of the giants also come all the way here to hire the most talented and best students of our college.

Yearly we celebrate 2 fests - 1 in each semester. One is "Aarush" held in odd semester(Sept) & second is "Milan" held in even Semester(March). Aarush is a technical fest & Milan is a enjoyment fest. For both, we have celebrities over and food stalls in our college

Basically all private colleges are very expensive - 2.5 lakh per annum for a university like this, doesn't look worth it for sure. If u aren't a rank holder in entrance exam, then u'll have to pay 1-4 lakhs more for a seat here

Our college offers loan facilities for poor people who cannot afford money easily for their children education. Scholarships are offered for those who got under 2.5K rank in their entrance exam. And i haven't availed any scholarship or loan from my college.

During fests, many extracurricular activities can be done such as sports, competitions and many others. We have a separate football field, basketball field, badminton field, cricket field too. So there is no lack of sports equipments here.

They are very helpful whenever we need from them and best part about here is that they cannot rag us that is ragging is least tolerated here. So, it's the best place literally to have contact with seniors.

By achieving good rank in their entrance test. First of all, attend the entrance exam, score well and if ur rank is good, then attend for counseling session to be held in Main campus of SRMIST, where I currently study in Kattankulathur. Then choose ur department(seat) accordingly and pay the fees completely.

Some faculty is good, some are too good for us and some are not at all good for us. But to be very frank, we find a lot of faculty not as knowledgeable as we need them to be at this university level.
