Remarks

College is well operated by govt of punjab with good funds coming in with huge infrastructure.

Entrance Preview

Central entrance test for Punjab which was later NIT then a counselling organised by PTU at Jallandhar as per your ranking to take college.

Course Curriculum Overview

We studied Metallurgy, polymer science, nano technology, material science and also composites and powders with the practices in the equipped labs in college to have hand on experience of the subjects.

Internships Opportunities

I did my internship for six months in PVC resin with Shriram group and the project was a technical detailed project for which I got a appreciation cirtificate.

Placement Experience

There was no placement cell at that time students used the find jobs on their own as per their connections and known people.

College Events

We had annual fest, we also had 4 cultural societies and also NCC in college events like singing and fancing competitions were held every year and also were followed by faction shows.

Fee Structure And Facilities

As it was govt college thus our fees were the lowest possible in country we used to pay just 2200 as tuition fees for one semester and additional 2000 for the hostel.

Fees and Financial Aid

Scholarships are there for top 3 students also there was a facility like if you top in your branch then you get a upgrade if you prefer to any other branch and if there is seat available.

Campus Life

Sports is another thing which is much in focus with cricket, football, basketball and tennis courts also the plan was to make a swimming pool which was not done till we were in college.

Hostel Facilities

Hostel rooms were good newly built with recreation rooms and good mess mess used to offer variety of food and also non vegetarian food once in a week we had a TT table and also TV room to enjoy.

External Expense: Rs.2000 - Rs.4000

Alumni/Alumna

No networking of this sort everyone is in touch with each other theough social new irking but now I had checked on college website there is a alumni login available.

Exam Structure

The structure was chilled out and not stressful for students there were two mid term exams and one final exams it was a semester system of exams this not many subjects.

The infrastructure is great with state of the art labs and equipment
The library is really nice place to study
Lots of hangout spots in and around campus

Less opportunities for core branches as less core companies visit campus
75 percent attendance policy for classes
Very high fees compared to other colleges

Placement Experience:

Companies start coming summer internships in the 5th and 6th semester though ,CG cuts are imposed so very less students are elgible to sit for these companies, The real placement season is 7th and 8th semester and many companies visit campus for placements. around 60 percent students got placed in the recent placement drive. The major recruiters are: Oracle, CISCO, JPMC,Deloite,IBM,ZS etc.

The Scholarship benefit is good when compared to other universities the fee is also not very huge.The Infrastructure of the campus was vast and there arelots of stall to purchase food items etc
There is a big mall through which You can get necessary items .In every hostel you will have departmental stores
The faculty was highly qualified. The Placements opportunities are also good The average was offered was 5-6 LPA.The Lpu newly Launched Education Revolution is very good for students

Dislikes

The mandatory 75% attendance policy for every subject.If you not maintain you will debar from End term examinations which is not all good
The Roads are not that much good .The roads are made of parking tiles instead of Thar
The distance between hostels and main gates are nearly 1.5 -2 km which not at all good .but there e-rickshaw they charge 15 rupees per person to drop from hostel to main gate

The course cirriculum changes every year by rapid changes happening due to AI The University has also launched a new school called School of AI and emerging technologies.from this every year syllabus changesand exams pattern changes .the difficulty of exams is increasing day by day.

There are 1 AC Lecture complex()LT with almost a seating capacity of 100-120 students, with smart screens and projector.
NITJ has well maintained 4 Girls hostel and 4-5 boys hostels with proper cleanliness and hostel staff.
They are 7 cafeterias in the Campus, including 3 Nescafe outlets,1 dominos and 3 regular canteens that serve food late night.

Dislikes

Wifi and connection issues in the hostels
Slow response to emails and late approval to applications
The ICE department faculty is quite strict. Tough grading system and administration.

Placement Experience:

NITJ has a placement cell, also known as the Centre of Training and Placements(TPO office of NITJ). The placement scenes differ depending on the courses offered. The average placements are 12-14LPA in the Computer Science branch. Every year, hundreds of companies, including Pvt and govt both. PSUs like HPCL and BPCL recruit students based on merit and academic excellence.

Good infrastructure, campus and faculty. Have to improve placements and industrial visits.

Likes

The campus is very green and clean. Infrastructure is good and one can feel fresh air here in campus
The faculty is excellent, almost all of the professors and assistant professors have a degree from renowned institutes. So they know their subject and field very well.
Hostels are good and affordable. Although the hostels itself are old, services are good and you get a nice room for the price/rent

Dislikes

The crowd isn't good. Always demotivated to do anything productive regarding studies. Some people are just here for time-pass
Very less site and outdoor visits. For practical experience, they should conduct industrial visits, but that happens rarely
Placements are really Dry and there is decline in company visits for placement.

Placement Experience:

Placements are not that good. Although companies come, there is a lack of mass recruiters or reputed organizations. One has to grind hard here for placements. If you're a CS student, you will have to face immense competition here. As for core branches, placements are severely dry. Students gets eligible in 4th year onwards for placements. Some of recruiters here are Trident, TCS, Reliance, Sonalika and other few. Every company offers around 10-15 selected students for a job. Highest package ever was 15LPA and average is 3.2LPA. Percentage placed is only around 15% here. My plans after the degree are to apply for govt exams.

The sports and the various facilities that they provide for relaxing
The Library that remains open till 10-11 at night for those who wish to study till late

Course Curriculum Overview:

The interest in coding influenced me to choose this subject and course. The curriculum gets me ready for a 9-5 job which kind of gets hectic. The teachers could maybe schedule classes to give the students time to study what they want to and if they wish to do a course outside the university they have the time to do so rather than just going by the university curriculum
