Srm Overview

All and all I would rate my college 7/10. If the fees would be less then this college gives high-quality education laced with modern technology. Negative is only the weather in Chennai. The faculties are somewhat partial.

We here have an open curriculum. We can select our faculties and subject we need to study. It has a US credit system-based curriculum. We have 3 CTs every semester which gives us 40 marks for internals. The remaining 10 m for internals include projects, surprise tests, and projects. Rest 50 marks will be our external University paper.

Placements here are excellent if we look for just the placement. Many students get placed in mass recruiting companies. Barring that Amazon, Google, Microsoft takes a lot of students for internships and aftermath a job. Internship opportunities are even given by the college. An internship fair is organized every year.

There are many events organized by srm. The top two are Milan and Aarush which are national-level fests. Many celebrities are called and many professors come up during the events to share their experience and knowledge. Leaving these two events we have many competitions organized by the different student associations of the college. Hackathon by ITA is one of them.

The fee structure is expensive. We have a rank-based fee structure. Rank below 1k 125000 The rank above 1k and between 10k 250000 Rank above 10k for (it,cse,mech,ece) 350000 For other depts it's 250000 For nanotech and aerospace, it's 375000.

We have scholarships given to many students. It's based on srm jee rank Our performance in jee or board exams in 12. We have a sports quota. Or on a regular basis for outstanding students during academics.

Our lab infrastructure is really good with high-quality systems and machines. We have a cricket ground, volleyball, tennis, basketball, badminton court. A football ground as well. We have a gym as well which is crowded but air conditioned.

I have opted for a hostel. The hostel here is expensive but the infrastructure for the hostel is good here in srm. We have 9-floor buildings which are kept clean most of the time. We have maids and other workers who keep up the daily chores going. We have tv, table tennis, carrom 24/7 wifi, hot water and much more stuff. But our mess is really messy cant adjust to the food here at all.

We have a good alumni network. A community named the Directorate of Alumni affairs is there who interact with the students regularly. They conduct various programs about their experience in college and after college. They even tell about placements and internship opportunities.

I attended the admission process. Srm call the students based on their rank for counseling and during counseling, you might get your seat if you have the rank to get that department. If not you need to pay higher fees.

We have a faculty who hold a degree in M.Tech or are PhD holder. Most of them are really good and versatile in their subjects. Most of them hold good knowledge. One disadvantage is maximum are Tamilian and this might render the communication. If leaving this 80% are really good.
