HCST Mathura- Review

Only positive remark is that you get to live hostel life. There's nothing good in college. There're lot of negative remarks, already mentioned in above sections. Sharda Group is just focusing on Sharda University and doesn't care about the college.

Courses are good but Curriculum is outdated. In 2014, we were studying about hydraulic brakes in the era of disc brakes. Exam structure is very bad, there are 30-30 marks two sessional exams and 10 marks for attendence and 10 marks for Assignment. 50 marks mentioned before are internal and 50 marks external exam conducted by UPTU.

No, only placement occurred is in IT companies and BPOs. No core companies come. They fake their placement stats. TCS also blacklisted now, 0 placements now. They show data from previous batches till date and fake it.

Gyan Jyoti and Alumni meet are the only two events that used to occur which i think don't happen now or are merged into one event now. Really a frustrating life in HCST now, as per my conversations with juniors.

Expensive, Hostel fees is too high. In 2015 my expenditure was 2lakh per annum. Today it might have gone even higher. 1,20,000 was the college fees and 80,000 was the hostel fee. It's really very expensive.

There's nothing good about this college. No such facility available, or may be i am not aware of it. There was a scholarship program but it was from UPTU and not from College. So we can't count that one.

There're no such activities as i told earlier, even the Mechanical HOD had a problem with male and female being friends and if found talking in campus, labs etc. He used to shout on them. Labs are not well equipped for any experiments. Sports don't happen much, basketball court was broken.

Infrastructure- 1/10 Facilities- 2/10 Internet was way too slow at that time, also food mess was a real mess. We had to eat from nearby dhabas. Rooms were in closed and no way sunlight could get in. Also they used to clean the corridors weekly. Yuck.

No such Alumni network, hostel seniors were helpful. Facebook is the only source of network with alumnus and seniors. College don't do anything about it. They don't even arrange an alumni meet now. Very bad in these terms.

UPSEE Merit List, Got rank in 50k-55k range and got admission in EE branch, then in second counseling got ME. The admission process was simple for me as I was from UPSEE. But for those who take direct admission had to pay huge amount to get admission in form of donation.

Faculty is also not good, they teach in the 90s way with no interest. Faculty doesn't care about how much you've grasped, they just want to complete the course. Also they're not able to solve complex problems and ask students to leave them in exam as optional.
