Course Curriculum Overview
Curriculum is fine just like most of the other universities. I feel like there's more of theoretical knowledge rather than practical real world knowledge in our course. Exams are conducted way too often like every 15-20 days.
Placement Experience
Placements are pretty average in this college. Average package is about 3-4 lakhs per annum which is not very satisfactory according to me. But it all depends on your skill set at the end of the day. Companies do come in our college but not every student gets placed. Ratio of students getting placed would be about 6:4.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee structure of HCST is like below: We need to pay 1 lakh 20 thousand per year which is the tuition fees. Apart from that if we're opting for bus facility then additional 27 thousand is the fees per year. Also, every year 7 thousand rupees needs to be paid as examination fees before our exams. If one is opting for hostel and mess facilities then additional charges will be applied, of which I'm not sure about as I've not opted for the same. Scholarships are available based on your JEE score. Overall I think the amount of money I'm paying for this college is not worth it because here the infrastructure is very poor and also the placement opportunities are pretty average.
Campus Life
There's no campus life in this college. Zero events be it cultural, technical or anything else. No sports events are conducted either. Pretty safe to say that campus life is too boring. Clubs have been made for formality only and even though students are willing to work and conduct events but the college doesn't provide any necessary support.
Admission
I chose this college because my parents wanted me to stay at home for college and as this one was near my home and I was not required to shift to another city, I chose this. This college accepts JEE score as well as your 12th scores. Your desired branch will be provided based on how well your scores are.
Faculty
1st year faculty is great but after that I would say only a few teachers are nice and supportive. Other than that every faculty thinks teaching and completing the syllabus is just there task and doesn't make any efforts to actually interact with students and try to understand their problems. Most of the faculty themselves doesn't have a good grasp of the subject they are teaching. We students study everything mostly from Youtube. We're forced to take classes because of 75% attendance criteria. It seems like such a time waste as we can utilise this time to sit at home and work on our skill set but instead we have to travel so much just to take classes the entire day half of which we don't even understand. Complaints have been done many times but our college lacks in the number of faculties that too skilled ones so there's nothing much that can be done.
Night Life
I don't know much about the night life of college as I'm a day scholar. But according to my hosteller friends it's not very happening. There's not much that happens at night. You can simply hang out with your friends around college and that's it.
