College review

As a government college it's ok. but it could be better. Because government is giving enormous amout of money for improvisation of colleges and it's infrastructure. But the money is not utilised in improvement. It's being gapped by higher authorised people.

The course curriculum is ok type. Not so good and we don't get proper teaching faculties and lecturers in architecture here. The exam structure is basically written type having long short and very short type questions. Besides that we have studio projects as sessionals,in which we get evaluated on the basis of our work process n final result.

There is no opportunity of placement here for architecture students in College of engineering and technology Bhubaneswar. But some of the companies come for btech placement . No ,our college doesn't provide internship though. No placement or internship provision for architecture students are here.

Year around we celebrate a lot of events in our college, including college fests. We celebrate independence day,republic day, gandhi jayanti etc . We also celebrate diwali, holi ,new year etc within our college campus. Yearly we have two college fests. But sometimes it doesn't happens.

As its a govt college, so the fee structure is feasible. The admission costs not more that 40,000 and the semester wise registration fees are not more than 22,000. So overally , it's feasible and there is also scope for SC,ST students to get scholarships.

College has no such scholarship scheme. I am availing a loan from a nationalized bank for study purpose. Prerana is a state level scholarship which I m availing due to my good marks in the previous exams.

We have sports day. During that different sports activities are done. Besides that, other extra curricular activities happens throughout the year. College level cricket championship is also arranged every year. Labs are good. They have good attendants and faculties and instruments. But in architecture block, there is nothing in the lab,which architecture students require the most.

I live in the govt hostel inside our college campus. The building is very good. The management is also good. But the food quality could be better. They don't serve us as per the government rules and menu. There could be more improvement in the hostel. There are lifts in the hostel . But they don't work. So physically handicapped people can't stay in the upper floors.

Our alumni are very good and friendly people. Every year an alumni meet takes place in which different sports and other recreational activities are done along with campus beautification. Seniors are good and helpful. They help in every situation.

I appeared all india JEE main exam then after that,rank was published. Then counselling occurred in the basis of rank and then I got selected to this college,then all the admission procedure occurred.

We don't have sufficient faculties here. Only 4-5 lecturers teach us from 1st year to last year . Other branches of Btech have sufficient faculties in every subject but architecture department doesn't have much faculties. We need more well educated faculties.
