Honest Review of College of Engineering and Technology, Bhubaneswar

Recently this college has become autonomous which is a good thing in itself. Campus is huge but mostly unused. Its located at the capital city of the state, so its quite reachable and locations for leisure activities are near to the college.

Course Curicullum is basically the same as every other engineering college. There are a total of 8 semesters spanned over a time period of 4 years. Internal examinations occur in middle of two semesters. Subjects vary from branches to branches.

Placements offered are quite good here. And a lot of students get places every year. Yes, the college does provide internships. Stipend is not much attractive but can be dealt with. Overall the experience is quite good in finding amd completing internships in this college.

Three major annual events occur at this college. Cultural, Technical and Sports events. Each branch also hosts individual branch specified events which allows everyone to participate. Fresher's Party and Farewell does add a charm.

Fee structure is extremely feasible. Core branches like Mech, Electr. Civil pay less than IT oriented branches. It's a government funded college due to which it charges way less tuition fees from its students.

Good amount of scholarships is available for various types of students. Although most of them are not provided by the college itself but they are easy to avail. Scholarships by merit, girls quota and physically handicapped scholarships are few of them.

Labs in colleges are well maintained as well as the workshops. Extracurricular clubs such as music, dance and drama clubs are very active. Indoor games are well equipped but grounds for outdoor games are not well maintained.

Hostel Infrastructure is good but the room sizes per student is way less than average and students might feel conjusted. Food quality is good with varied options of veg and non veg type. Bathroom sanity is well maintained.

Alumni network is strong. Frequent sessions about various topics are organised by senior students. Very successful alumnis often come and give tips and advices to achieve feats. Overall the relationship between seniors and juniors is strong.

There are basically two ways to get admission in this college. One is through giving JEE mains and get admission through merit list conducted by JoSAA. Second one is by giving OJEE i.e. Odisha joint entrance examination. I got admission from the former process

Faculty is not upto par with the reputation of the college. Most faculties have no experience in teaching at more reputable colleges. No use of digital aids like projectors and digital screens. Dissastisfied.
