About my college

There are always positives and negatives, but mostly positives are more from my view. I was an important part of college, and won many awards for college, the help and support provided by college for earning those awards was very crutial and important.

Course curriculum is updated Every few years to keep up with the changing industry and benchmarks. Curriculum for computer engineering is quite vast and covers almost all the new and upcoming technology including Artificial Intelligence and Machine learning over the course of 4years. Exam pattern is 70marks final exam with 30 marks insem exams.

Placements and jobs are quite exquisite as there are more than 150 drives that happen in the last year. In 2019, there was placement rate for more than 95%. In terms of internship, yes the college provides the opportunity of internships but there is no time allotted for it in SPPU curriculum. Stipends depend on the companies offering internships, many are unpaid but some give 15k+.

Events are spectacular, you get to see what all tallents are hidden in the college. I was the head coordinator for many of the events, and the response from the college and other city colleges was very huge. We also broke some national records for participation.

It is feasible, the fee range is around 70k-90k per year for general category students and very less for reserved category students around 4k per year. Other than that 7k per year for University exam fees and other variables are taken from each student per year.

Mostly scholarships are awarded by central or state government on the basis of merit. Scholarship offered by the government for reserved category students with low income family background is there. I'm unaware if college on its own offers any scholarships, but sure does helps facilitate government offered scholarships.

Extracurricular activities are all around the college. There are various student chapters and associations in college and the events happen all around the year. Labs for every subject are present. For sports inter department, intra department, inter college and individual level are organized. Sports in college include cricket, football, Badminton, volleyball, badminton and many indoor games.

Opted for hostel for one year only. The food was mediocre but living was enjoyable. There are good facilities including gym, wifi and hot water which is a required necessity nowadays. Safety for girls is also there. There are many night rector and watchman.

Alumni network is very strong, many events are organized such as competitions, workshops and training are conducted by alumni. Recently college has established a portal for students to connect with alumnis for queries and help.

The admission process included registering through DTE (directorate of technical education). The percentile was calculated on the basis of JEE mains score and 12th marks. I had to fill the preference list of colleges. The results are declared after few days. There were multiple rounds for students but for OMS (outside Maharashtra candidates) only 2 rounds. You have to select or reject given college for that particular round. Once select, admission process at the college premises is processed.

Faculty of my department and college are very friendly and nice. Helping throughout the curriculum as well as outside the college boundaries. I was quite involved with office administration as well as other department staff and my experience was very Nice.
