Satish Kumar Yd's Review On Rajiv Gandhi Institute Of Technology - [RGIT], Bangalore

I took CET and got 43556 rank. I wanted to do B.E in Mechanical Engineering in Bangalore itself, and this was the nearest college from my location(Jakkur, Yelahanka).

It was under VTU, hence most of my course was going on VTU basis, we had to choose our electives in last three semesters and it was taken on majority of votes. We had always changes in faculty as always newer were coming and old ones were leaving.

I had gone for Internship for a week as I was lacking time. I didnt get any Stipend as my period of Internship was low. Generally my friends got some 5k-8k.

The current status of placements in all colleges is very low and same in our college. Though we didnt had companies coming for my branch, CS IS EEE were having placement opportunities frequently.

Events were celebrated as a Festival here in our college. Onam was celebrated throught the college by all staffs and students as most of them were from Kerala. Kannada rajyothsava, ethnic day, Sports Day, Annual fest etc were celebrated every year.

As like all other engineering colleges it is the same fee here too. I had to pay 50 thousand every year for my 4 year course and I fell it is feasible. College supports to get scholarships from various funds from the Govt.

Govt of Karnataka gives various kinds of scholarship for the B.E students and it was well utilized in our college. SC/ST/1A/2A/2B/3A/3B as such people belong to the category were helped with scholarships with complete college support also extra fee amount from the scholarship were refunded back.

Many extra curricular activities were being made here in college. Ethnic day was the day where people used to show their freedom on ethnicity and religion concept,. Volley ball, Foot ball, Throw ball, all athlete games were held for all during sports day. An event on Robotics was also done during my 3rd year. Also we had enough lab equipments , where in shortage we were made in batches and labs were continued.

It was mandatory for seniors to give a welcome party where we were knowing about our seniors strength. We had an amazingly talented people. Similarly it was mandatory to give farewell for seniors where in juniors would take up initiative and this way we always had a good relationship which was also helped in getting them closers and clearing doubts

VTU give us a month holiday before we take up exam and this is the reasonwe enjoy throughout the semesters, the exam structure is good.
