Remarks

Infrastructure and lab facilities are limited. Sometimes the faculities didn't get their salaries compulsary and it leads to their resignation.campus is not very wide. Many descision of management is not proper.

Course Curriculum Overview

Modules are properly coverd but time for covering all modules for a semester is limited.so some of the modules are not properly explained it increases the students work load. University exams are coordinated by ktu university.

Placement Experience

Placement cell is active in cochin college of engineering and technology.Mainly in department of computer science and engineering, mechanical engineering.Many of the students got good jobs and they are well settled now. Other than mech and cs depts all other departments like EEE, EC, CIVIL ENGINEERING,MECHATRONICS ENGINEERING, CHEMICAL ENGINEERING also provides opportunities for internship for students.

College Events

All departments in the college conducts Techfests in a year.Those techfests are one of the main plus point of this college.College management and faculity gives heavy support to the students for conducting and succeeding the programmes.Other than tech fests the students Union conduct many cultural and sports programmes in the college.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fees is affordable for donations are not compulsory.students from ordinary families can complete their studies and they can secure their future by studying in cochin college of engineering and technology.

Fees and Financial Aid

All scholarships which are provided by state and central government are available for students who are eligible are available in Cochin college of engineering and technology.if students who avails educational loans have a trouble in paying fees in correct date the management gives special considerations and no fines are given.

Lab facilities are not very good but students get better practical knowledge in the limited facilities lab faculities are efficient.sports events are conducted in every year in the college by the students Union and college.

Hostel Facilities

I am a hostler. Rent for hostel is 21000 per year. Mess fees is rs 100 for a day.infrastructure of hostel is nice. Basic facilities are good and a comfortable and calm atmosphere is the speciality. Students can study without any stress.

External Expense: Rs.2000 - Rs.4000

Alumni/Alumna

Seniors are friendly.extreme raging or harrasments from seniors are not allowed. They helps the juniour students in thier studies and academical activities. Seniors doesnt misbehave towards the juniours without any reason.

Admission

I got admission in this college by NRI seat in the base of keam exam.Students those who doesn't have name in merit list can also take admission in Cochin college of engineering and technology valanchery.

Faculty

Efficient teachers qualified teachers are working in this college. Teachers take care in issues of students and they helps the students to find the solutions to those problems. Teachers take many efforts to make good result.

Good life memory

Likes

College ambience was too attractive. Friendly atmosphere ആൻഡ് very nice hidden spots and food spots inside the college
The faculty was too supportive and encouragive nature that was also in studies and extra curricular activities also that be very kind of them
There is not only aim to study but also encourage the extra activities. The management was also very supportive to students and also the faculties.

Dislikes

There is very strict to attendence. There was not to bunk the class every hour there will take the attendence and there will be absent they autimaticaly send sms to registerd phone
There is too many exams and assignments that will be little bit problem for students
Canteen facilities little bit bad in my college life time. There was not that much food veriety

Placement Experience:

From 6 th semester onwards campus placement taken. There was coming in bcs, infopark, wipro, etc. Companies are mainly appeared and also many other companies came select many students. The main companies take students in cutoff 8.5or9 cgpa. And some other compnies take students they have backpapers.

I choose btech cse cause it was the trending course at that time and I was computer science student in my high school so it was best for me to choose btech cse at that time. And I believe it cold be a great career choice

This college is not what it seems in the first look.

Likes

College was at a beautiful place. It was not a city but a beautiful place.
Hostel was great. I got many friends from there.
These are the only things that I can think of.

Dislikes

Teachers, they are horrible one one teacher named aparna was professional and ethical. My HOD was the worst.
Principal is the worst. She does not hear students side. She is money minded. I had a fee pending for not more than 2 week. When I went to her for signing my medical report she demanded that she will sign only after I paid that fee
The college does not encourage extra curricular activities.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is the worst. Teachers rush through the portions so that they can finish at the earliest. It may be because the university has a unjustifiable timetable. There is very little practicals given. The ones that are given are just for namesake.

Likes

Decent infrastructure. hostel infrastructure is also clean and better than most colleges

Dislikes

Very poor campus life. No importance for cultural programmes and activities
Very poor and degrading environment for women. Faculties and other staff are very judgemental.
Very low packages for average students. Placement training is regularly being provided, but it is too hectic to be managed along with curriculum.

Placement Experience:

students become eligible for placements after sixth semester. Major companies like TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Cognizant, e.t.c are recruiters. about 5-10 students are recuited on average by these companies. highest package was offered by south indian bank in 2023 (10 LPA). average packges are around 2 to 3 LPA.

We have a very good faculty family that is not only supportive but also loving.

Placement Experience:

From the seventh semester we are eligible for the placements. They provide placement training sessions in the college itself. Computer Science department has almost hundred percent placements. Also there is mtech in the college if you prefer higher studies.

TIST , Great college , fun events and more

Likes

Our seniors passed out with flying colors joining different companies or starting their own. There's a good focus on peer learning and student communities which is pretty nice. Canteen food is decent and labs are great
Most people and professors are friendly and they encourage you to try out new things.

Dislikes

Hostel water , busses are pretty fast. Sometimes roads are a bitt rough

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course curriculum is under KTU syllubus do it's fine. There is a change in curriculum coming 2024 which i assume would make a lot of good changes. The curriculum gives you a head start For most of your work, you need to on your own but the faculty is there to help. The frequency of exams is weekly tests + monthly exams. Its not too difficult of an exam.

Likes

I feel like staffs in my department are pretty good, atleast they fullfill their duties to cover the portions in right time
We have placements training, offered free of cost by college itself
Notes and necessary materials for studying are provided from college itself, and most teachers don't force on buying textbooks or other materials

Dislikes

College is located in aarakunnam, which is a bit remote area hence for various needs we often need to travel a few kilometres even for basic necessities
The road to collage entrance is a steep road, and currently it's under construction (it's been a yr)
Students are required to park their vehicles outside the college, as there is no parking facilities for students inside campus

Placement Experience:

Currently placements are bit low, due to inflation, but compared to other colleges like KMEA, etc we have better placements similar to Muthoot and all. We have placement training, and other supports which can help us crack aptitude exams and prepare for placements Almost 70-80% students are placed every year, with an avg package of 4LPA

There are a lot of assignment often for the students

After 6 th semester students become eligible for placements . It's in the final years . Many companies have visited the college and made offers for the students like Wipro,Tenzo tech , infopark etc Around 70 Percent students get placement

When it comes to the campus life, I enjoyed all the 4 years
The infrastructure was okayish Could've improved.
The faculty was really friendly and I was able to approach them without any hesitation.

Dislikes

The road from the junction to the college is not at all maintained. Students coming up the hill find it very difficult to reach college
The bus fees are increased every year. But these people can't find a way to provide seats for the students after paying their bus fee.
Some other campus offer many varieties of food in their canteen. This has to be done here too

Placement Experience:

The students usually start appearing for campus placements in their 6th semester. The training for the campus placements is started for all the students from the 4th semester. Many companies visited for campus placements. But one main problem is that most of them were low packages. Around 4LPA. Some were between 4-6 and a very few between 6-10. Most of them got placed in our batch in some company.

Remarks:

Yeah well, positive things are there. I got many friends. I got a degree. I learned much personal and professional knowledge. I also learned how to live independently for 4 years without parents alone somewhere.

I have applied for many colleges all over Kerala through the allotment process. It includes Royal College at Thrissur, KMCT College at Kozhikode, and so on. The reason for not applying to the colleges mentioned above and the rest is because I got allotted in this college through KEAM rank in management quota and also it is nearer to my place. Actually, I took admission privately due to some reasons I was not able to take admission through the management quota. In the admission criteria, you should provide every document that includes your 10th and 12th certificates, entrance scorecards if any, and other documents that are required. The minimum mark for engineering is 70% and above. If you're qualified in any entrance exams it is more noticeable. The admission process is quite simple.
