Review of NIT Patna

Positive- placements can be kept in the category of good. They are above average compared to other engineering colleges of country. Negative- There is less learning and more marks based study. All students care about is good marks and placements.

Curriculum is not at par with the industry standards. What is requured in industry has never been taught in course. Also the course structure is outdated. They need to remove unnecessary courses from the course and make the curriculum more industry oriented.

Placements are quiet good but only for the computer science students. For other branches it's pathetic. They also provide internship opportunities but for only few students. Not for everyone. Also most of the students get placed at really low salaries.

Events are celebrated throughout the year. The major ones worth mentioning are the annual techno-cultural fest, Corona & Melange, the inter-departmental cultural fest eccentrica and intramurals. Other than these clubs keep organising events throughout the year.

Quite feasible. Annual fees for general category students is 1.25 lakhs. Further there is concession provided to students to students who are from economically backward families. For students having their family income in 1lakh to 5 lakhs it is 33.33% of total fee. For students having their family income below 1 lakh it is completely free.

There are scholarships for the students from reserved categories. But for students from general category I don't know of any scholarship. Also there are other government schemes for students from reserved category.

Computer labs are good but other labs aren't good. Most of the equipments are old and haven't been kept with care. Many instruments don't work as they have been been manhandled either by students or lab staffs. Sports facilities are good. Culturals like music and dance are pathetic. Our college owns no musical instrument as of now nor any sound equipment.

I don't know of any alumni network that works as an organisation to help the students. But personal contacts do help and they can really be your saviour in your bad times. Also seniors of college are really helpful.

Through JEE Entrance examination and then a joint counseling. A rank list is released after the JEE exam. Through this students get a rank based on their ranks. After this they are required to fill their choice list in the counseling process. Based on the availability of seats and demands the seats are allocated to the students.

Some of them are really good and have deep understanding of the subject matter but they need to make teaching more interesting as most of the time classes are boring and very few of stydents do really pay attention in the class.
