PSG CAS LIFE

Campus life is awesome life in PSGCAS is always referred to as heaven. There is no better institution anywhere else that provides quality education and great campus life. There are various state level and national level sports events that happen such as basketball championship, badminton championship etc. All these are very much perfect.

The curriculum or syllabus is based on Bharathiar University. Continuous assessment (CA) – tests, assignments, seminars etc. constitute the CA part - periodical assessment by respective Departments. Comprehensive examination (CE) - assessment through end- semester examinations by internal and external examiners.

Our college has a placement cell that guides the students to pursue the careers in top institutions. The companies conducting campus placement in our college are CTS, TCS, infosys, wipro, etc. They offer a salary package of 25000 to 40000 per month. Lot of students are placed in these companies.

Both aided and unaided students have their functions such as Heartbeat and Euphoria. These two are the grand functions in our college. Apart from functions, they also celebrate Pongal for both aided and unaided students, which is awesome.

The fees structure changes every year. I studied in the unaided Software Systems department and joined in 2017. The donation was Rs.50,000. The annual fees were Rs 65,000 per year. It would have definitely increased now. Every semester we paid around Rs.700 plus for Manvar Manram registration and examination fees.

If the student has good scores he/she can get into the aided department where the fees are as low as Rs 3000 per year. Our college also providing a scholarship for the students who are economically backward and they will arrange some loan facility.

There are many clubs and forums available for the students to get engaged and develop themselves. For example Rotaract club, music club, dance club, NCC, NSS, Sports club, drama club etc. Food stalls and others for developing our entrepreneurship skills, many inter and intra college cultural, sports and department wise functions are being conducted where the students can exhibit their skills. If you want to get exposed to something more than your academics and explore your talents then PSGCAS is the right place for you.

The hostel of PSGCAS provides different options to choose from, depending upon the personal interest of students, their preferences and choice of expenses. There are 8 hostels for girls and 3 hostels for boys. Each hostel had different facilities available such as the number of roommates, quality etc.

PSGCAS has a very vast alumni network that includes various celebrities and prominent personalities. The alumni contribute majorly for the welfare of the institution. Unlike olden days, the seniors are very friendly and loving. The campus is ragging free and takes strict actions against it.

The eligibility criteria for candidates applying for undergraduate aided/ unaided programs are different depending upon the course they choose to opt.For all the BA programmes, the mandatory eligibility criterion is that the candidate must have passed 10+2 qualifying examination. For post graduate programs, the candidate stands eligible if he/she has completed the graduation with the mandatory subjects required for the respective program.

Most of the faculty who teach at PSG College of Arts and Science are alumni of the same college. They are very fluent in English and thorough with the subject. They inspire the students to study the subject outside the syllabus as well, so as to improve themselves in a better way. They support and guide students personally and professionally. The faculty is very supportive of the students to think outside the box and participate in extracurricular activities.
