Admission to PSG College of Arts and Science is based primarily on high school marks. Undergraduate applicants need a 10+2 qualification, while postgraduate applicants must have graduated with the required subjects. Admission forms are accessible online and on campus, to be obtained a week before the 12th-grade results are announced. The first 20-30 merit students pay only the first year's fees, while others pay an additional management fee. The college's faculty is generally well-experienced and supportive, though about 20% are not up to expectations.
Fees have increased since 2017, with current structures involving semester-wise payments. Initially, fees were Rs. 65,000 annually with a Rs. 50,000 donation upon joining. Additional fees include Rs. 700 for registration and exam fees. Self-financed students pay higher fees compared to government-aided branch students. The college has a strong placement record, with over 90% of students securing jobs annually. Last year, 59 students were hired by Goldman Sachs. Major recruiters include TCS, CTS, Infosys, and Wipro, offering salaries between INR 25,000 to 40,000 per month.
The placement cell offers support, with internships primarily in the fourth and fifth years of PG courses. Scholarships and loan facilities are available for SC/ST communities, academically exceptional students, and economically disadvantaged students, among others. Government loans and bonafide certificates for bus passes and tax reductions are also offered. Students with good academic records can join government-aided departments with fees as low as Rs. 3000 per year.
