Remarks

Only negative remarks can be made for the Mahatma Gandhi missions college of engineering and technology in Navi mumbai. As no student sees any future after getting graduated from the college. Despite of huge investment made by the students in the name of the fees and their important years of their lives, the students are left helpless after completing their courses.

Course Curriculum Overview

0.5

The course curriculum for the graduate and post graduate courses in various branches of engineering and technology are as per the guidelines and directives set by the university of Mumbai for the said particular course.

Placement Experience

0.5

The placement cell of the college is not at par with the other engineering and technology colleges in the state or the city. The placement records of the college for two decades can be seen that only a few students were offered placement with a meagre salary. Students have to either look out for higher studies or other courses that can aid them in making a good career and package which otherwise they could have received provided the college was good.

College Events

0.5

The college as such doesn't have and support many technical, social or other events. The student welfare Association is also not very active in this regards. However, the college celebrates an annual event for technical presentation, fun /cultural activities and sports. These events don't see involvement of all the students and also not from other colleges.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The mgm CET being an unaided private college, it leavies a huge fee on its students. The fee structure has a major share on infrastructure and property development which is surprisingly not seen in the campus. A normal fee of around 1 lakh was charged per year, which was not at all worth it.

Fees and Financial Aid

The college as such did not provide for any merit cum means scholarship or offer any loan scheme for its students. While the college was a recipient of the funds from the social welfare department of government of Maharashtra for the students from backward class, the college was always found to misuse the students money and many times these students were compelled to put fees which were actually waived by the government.

Campus Life

0.5

The college kept on introducing many courses year by year but failed to develop infrastructure for those courses. Although it started many new branches and collected huge fees in the name of infrastructure development, the labs for said department were unseen till the second year of the 4 year course. This badly affected the quality of the education and training imparted in the college.

Hostel Facilities

0.5

I was not a Hostellite, but the hostels seemed to be pathetic. There were basically no hostel for engineering students. A medical college hostel accomodated hostelite girls from engineering. While, male candidates from only 300 km away from Mumbai were considered for hostels and they were allocated rooms in a private row house rented by the college in the vicinity.

Alumni/Alumna

No alumni Association or network exists for the alumni or the welfare of present students. Everyone admitted to the course always tries to get rid out from the college as soon as possible. The students have no sentiments for their ALMAMATER after completion of their respective courses and suffering on every fronts of the crucial years of their lives and career.

Admission

The admission to MGM CET is conducted through CAP round of the Maharashtra state board and Department of Technical Education. Based on an entrance test conducted by MHTCET or AIEEE a meirt list is made.

Faculty

0.5

The faculty in the college are generally postgraduate in engineering and technology, with a very few exceptions of PhD degree holders. The faculty for the first two years are generally freshers and lack requiaite teaching experience and skills.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would rate it average . It is comprehensive but not so useful as in todays world we require more skills than the formulas. It is related to communication and i am very interested in that . It is not very good for real world application but wr do learn about the basics and get hold of how everything work but does not cover advanced technology. Syllabus should be revised and should be more based on skills than theory and rattafication There are 3 to 4 exam per semester which can be very hectic that it feels like we are giving exams every few weeks. Difficulty is not that much but syallabus is really hard to cover amd we can not focus more on skills and projects more of the time we are giving exams

course curriculum is little bit out-dated, and improvements are needed in terms of syllabus. timing of exams are ok ok. so many assignments are given which is really hectic because their are deadlines to upload those assignments in google classroom. and one thing i hate about college is 75% attendence is must. due to this we do not get much time for our personal development.
