Remarks
Pros: Great personality development, Great Alumni Network, Good Career guidance path, Great events thorughout the year. Cons: Most faculties not upto the mark, Newer technolgies not included in syllabus.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is typically UPTU based. Many universities and colleges are adapting towards newer technologies that will be helpful to the students but unfortunately, thats not the case with MMMUT. Exam structure is like One mid-sems (20 or 30 marks) and One Major Exams in a semester (50 marks) and the rest are Viva and Practical based marks
Placement Experience
The On-Campus Placements were the worst this graduating year. Only 5-6 companies including Wipro, TCS came for their campus-pool. This year, the placement scene is very fliud. Till now, around 15 companies have already visited the campus and most of the juniors have been placed. Some companies with a CTC as high as 16LPA are yet to visit in this November. No, my college doesn't provide any internships to the students. They don't even care in this matter. Fortunately, I bragged an internship on INTERNSHALA in my Junior year with an Organsiation named Halfbit. The internship was of 2 months and the total stipend was of 20k.
College Events
This is where our College shines. There is a plethora of events planned over the whole academic year. A numerous boards and societies are present in MMMUT which conduct their own events throughtout the year. There are 2 fests that can be said are the main events of all of them. 1. techSRIJAN- The Techno-Management Fest of MMMUT Gorakhpur. This year we celebrated its 20th Edition in October. It was started in 1999. Its conducted by IEEE and SAE 2. Abhyuday- The cultural fest of MMMUT. Its conducted by the Cultural team and Editorial Board of MMMUT. Some other major events include Robomania, Electra, Avalamban etc.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Being a government Institute, the fee structure is fairly feasible with the total fess of the whole year comes around 80k. (Exclusive of mess fess of 12k per semester). So the total expenditure of the year comes around nearly 1 lakh rupees per year.
Fees and Financial Aid
Government provides an annual scholarship to bright as well as low income students(parents income less than 2LPA) of Rs. 64k to OBCs and General Category whereas SC and STs get an annual scholarship of around 90k. Unfortuantely, I don't know any loan facilities you get for college.
Campus Life
Extracurricular activities play an important role in our academic year. Labs and Departments were established way back in 1970-1980 so they are just there to fulfill you work. Nothing fancy there. The field in which my college has gone afar is in the field of Sports. The stadium has been newly constructed this year only. Our juniors and seniors both have travelled to various sports competitions in various institutions like IITs, NITs and claimed medals there.
Hostel Facilities
I was a Hosteler. The hostel infrastructure is just like any old college. My college was established in 1962 and most of the hostels are of 1980s era. So, infrastructure wise dont expect any lavish rooms. The facilities have improved quite a lot in a last few years. The bathrooms have been refurbished and now feel like a hotel washroom. The mess is also converted into a complete modern kitchen with modern facilities
Alumni/Alumna
The best thing about our college is the Alumni Network and the bond between Senior-Junior students. Not me but most of the students feel that this bond is the best thing of the institution. We have a strong alumni network of more than 6000 active "Malvians" across the globe. The alumni are very helpful and contribute regularly for their juniors and their alma-mater.
Admission
Although MMMUT is a government Institute and used to take admissions from UPSEE until 2013. MET or Malviya Entrance Test came into place and thus students were given admission according to their Rank in MET. I got AIR 249 in MET 2015 and chose stream CSE for B.Tech
Faculty
What can you expect from thr faculties of a government based intitution. The faculties that have spend many years in the college are very well educated and a good source of information. They also understand students well and their problems. Well, to phrase it together, some faculties are good but no one wants to educate the students. Its a government job, they come, they take attendance and they relax.
