Entrance Preview

UPTU helds an entrance exam for the admission every year. I opted for B. tech. I choose this college as it was not too far from my home and importantly in the campus and nearby all colleges. Local market and buses are also available. There is a facility of college bus and centralized college bus which has the facility to visit other college easily. I had an interview with the admission cell person who saw my marks and score and asked me which course I would prefer. I majorly wanted computer science being computers in much demand so I was also had the same mind-frame like many other students. But it is not true I had my intrest in physics and electronics so than after guidance of my parents I took Electronics and communication as my field. I would advice all the students not to just run among the people but choose your own area of interest.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

B. Tech-EC is a good course. It has a never ending demand in the industry of IT and emerging MNC's have a lot of demand for this field. College has a good library and very good Lecturers. The most important is the discipline of the college. Methods of teaching, books, assignments, extra classes all are very efficient. I am not convinced for the Labs because they are not so good.

Internships Opportunities

I have no idea for the stipend. I dont think so it is provided for the b. tech students. But there should be a increased scope for the students from other universities to do research work and enhance their knowledge. Also there should be onsite trips and visits to industries which will increase one's knowledge and grow them professionally.

Placement Experience

1.5

There had been companies which came primarily to our college for campus selection but not too many of them and were not so reputed. There were POOL campus where companies like Birla soft, Accenture, TCS, HCL had came. Our college had WIPRO in our campus. But most of the students were not placed from campus including me. I had an off-campus selection. Hopefully now this has been better now. Placements should work better.

College Events

2.5

There was this freshers party and saraswati puja in the college. There is a Mandir in the college which is visited by students. Technical fests and competions are there but not much of sports and dance activities are there. Farewell party is planned within college with a dress code usually in evening. Not much of the activities and cultural involvements!!

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee structure is according to the GBTU university standards. If one is going through Management Quota-many factors are there which decide the fees. Depends on the placement cell and nature of the course. If the course is filled and no chance of adding students than in rare cases students get admission.

Fees and Financial Aid

The scholarship is provided to the students who score consistent 80% marks not much of the idea about this. But students got the scholarship who were toppers.

Campus Life

2.5

Crowd is mixed and gender ratio is ok. Sports events and technical fests happen in every semester. There is uniform in the college which displays the equality culture for all classes and students from all backgrounds study here comfortably. ALL in all is a good composite culture and healthy atmosphere for the students Not just study all can be friends. As we say only study study makes it boring so fun and enjoyment is also part of college life. Student diversity makes all to get involved equally and share their views and opinions on every topic.

Hostel Facilities

4

Hostel is good. Food, basketball, indoor games, library everything is available. Rooms are in good condition but a little expensive as compared to the PG's outside the college. There are activities in hostel as well and the warden is ok. As heard from my

Alumni/Alumna

Seniors were not so helpful in my case. Few of them were who helped for books and teaching us some imp topics for the exams. Well, this totally depends on the seniors every year.

Exam Structure

It is the GBTU university and has 2 semesters in a 4 year course. All managed by the university head quarters, Lucknow. Usually we have 3 sessional/internal eams before main semester exam whose marks are added to the semester and we get finally the percen

Faculty

Teachers are very diciplined and are primarily focceussed on students growth and marks. There is no linient behaviour from teachers and they are very strict when it comes to assignments and tests. HOD had been very very script at my time so he would come

Government organizations like Cisr and Syneos Health are major conglomerate where we are placed. Still with lesser students we are not places that high and it's a shame because such a great university but still placements are in a way less as other branches have. 4-5 lakhs is what offered to Biotechnology students of IILM.

Students of 3rd and 4th year are eligible for placements. More than 150 companies offered 750+ Jobs. Almost 70% of the students in my branch has been placed. Highest package offered was 9PLA and the lowest was 3LPA. The top recruiting companies were TCS, Infosys, PTC, Cleartrip, Jinko Contraction, GENX Consultancy Services, Airtel, CIty Union Bank, Emerson, Asix Bank and many more. Some of the students have taken the placement and some of them were invited to internship from 20k stipend to 40k stipend. If the student doesn't get college placement, he need to apply off campus for jobs. I will try to join a good job or start my own startup idea.
