If you’re considering NIT Trichy, I would say think about the course you want. I chose VNIT for B.Tech in Civil Engineering because it has a good reputation and provides various opportunities for internships and placements. The average package is decent, around 10 LPA, and many companies like BPCL and ITC visit for placements.

The campus life is engaging with many events like Aarohi and Axis, which are fun and help in networking too. The faculty here can be approachable, but there are some who are strict. For me, VNIT has been a solid choice.

Choosing between NIT Trichy and VNIT Nagpur is a tough call. Personally, I opted for VNIT because it’s close to my home in Nagpur, and I felt the campus life here is vibrant. The placements for my course, B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering, have been decent. The highest package was around 64 LPA, which is impressive. Also, the faculty is well-qualified, but some teaching methods could be better. Overall, VNIT has a good mix of academics and extracurricular activities, making it a good choice for me.

Both NIT Trichy and VNIT aren't top-notch. Their courses are outdated, and the faculty isn't really bringing anything new to the table, which seems like a waste of taxpayer resources.

VNIT Nagpur was my choice because it’s a national institute and offers a good curriculum for my B.Tech in Electronics & Communication Engineering. The placement stats are pretty encouraging, with the highest package being 64 LPA. The faculty are mostly supportive, and the course is structured to include practical applications, which I find helpful.

The campus life is active, with clubs and events happening throughout the year. I think if you’re looking for a good college experience and decent placement opportunities, VNIT is a great option.

I graduated from VNIT, so I can share some thoughts to help you decide. If budget isn't a big deal for you, especially when it comes to hostel fees, definitely choose NIT Trichy! Missing out on the "hostel life" is something I regret deeply. It's a unique experience that can truly transform you in positive ways. Many introverts I knew left as outgoing, skilled communicators after four years in the hostel. Plus, you'll enjoy "night-outs" and festivals way more than if you were just commuting.

Being a day scholar wasn't great for me (I had money issues), and I still wish I had the hostel experience. Also, NIT Trichy ranks just as high, if not higher, in terms of quality. Don't make the same mistake I did. Go for it!
