How are the placements at IIT Guwahati?

Placements is very good here. Many companies visit here . Previous year Chemical Science and Technology branch had an average package of approx 18 lpa. Highest package for college was 2.05 crore per annum , it was Computer Science engineering branch.

Placements are good . Around 60% students gets placed. More than 250+ companies visits. Many students are preferring DS and Non Tech roles after graduation ( for core branches ) and they are getting good opporutunities in them aswell.

The placement is quite good in my college. In 7 th semester the placements start and the package goes from 16lpa to 2 cr . About 75 percent student who applied got placed . I want to work in a software firm.

Students become eligible for placements from 7th semester, few students also get pre placement offer from their interships after their 6th semester or in the mid 7th semester. Almost 70% of placement rate in our department with hifhest package around 60lpa and median is 17lpa

As an IIT the placements are ofcourse top of the line. Although my branch is a lot more inclined towards academia but still students can apply for jobs of any field The opportunities to learn different skill is truly endless
