IEM Kolkata is an average college. The academics and facilities offered aren’t good for IT. Alumni of the institute who are well-established in the IT sector received the opportunities based on their talent and expertise. If you have other better options, you should choose them over IEM.
As per the recent placement highlights, IEM Kolkata average CTC was INR 5-6 LPA. While the highest CTC offered to the student of this branch was INR 42 LPA.
How was your IIT Kharagpur PGDBA interview experience?
Before sharing my PGDBA interview experience, I would like to list down my personal details:

The Interview was conducted in an online manner, and its duration was 30 minutes. There were three interviewers, and they made me feel comfortable before starting the PI. Here are some questions I was asked during the interview-
First, I was asked to Introduce myself. I answered politely and confidently. I told the interviewers everything about myself. I told them about my academic qualifications, my work experience, my schooling background, my interests, etc.
I was asked about my undergrad degree. I answered that I have completed my B.Tech from BIT Meshra, Ranchi in Computer Science. In response to this, I was asked the reason for pursuing CSE for my B.Tech. I responded by saying that I am interested in computer science, which is why I opted for a B.Tech in this stream.
Apart from my personal details, I was asked technical questions too. For example, one of the interviewers asked me to differentiate between Analytics and Analysis. The interviewers asked Business Analytics related questions, and questions on current affairs.
My advice to you would be to remain calm and confident during the interview, and to study a bit of current affairs. Also, make sure to study a bit on this course, and have answers to basic questions such as the one I have mentioned above.
Overall, my PGDBA interview experience at IIT Kharagpur was quite pleasant.
Why should someone choose IIT Delhi over IIT Mumbai for CSE? Except his/her AIR.?
There are two sides to every coin. Similarly, there are many reasons why one must choose IIT Delhi over IIT Mumbai and vice versa. To make it further understandable, I have listed some common pros and cons of IIT Delhi
Pros
- You are in proximity to the capital city
- It’s easy to prepare for some other exams also apart from Engineering like IAS
- Hauz Khas village in itself is an absolute treat to the eyes
- Being in Delhi makes it possible to go for road trips to Jaipur, Chandigarh, Lansdown, Rishikesh, Dehradun, Agra, etc.
- The Delhi Metro makes commuting quiet easy
- There are many places to explore and hang out with your friends in the vicinity of the campus.
Cons
- CS department of IIT Bombay is way better than IIT Delhi offering a plethora of diverse courses.
- The campus of IIT Bombay has more natural landscape and greenery in comparison to IIT Delhi. This enhances the climate and overall ambiance inside the campus
- Unlike IIT Delhi, the hostel facilities are much better at IIT Bombay while Delhi hostels are overly crowded.
- Delhi faces extreme climatic conditions whereas the weather of IIT Bombay somehow remains the same throughout the year.
I leave it to you to weigh the pros and cons accordingly and make an informed decision.
What are reviews of the PGDHRM program at IIM Ranchi?
There has been a lot of talk and misconceptions about whether the PGDHRM is as good as XLRI TISS or any other 'HR institute'. The PGDHRM stands out due to its unique curriculum and ideology. It is recognized that HR is not just about soft skills, and the course has been designed to be futuristic and not obsolete like some peer institutes.
- The PGDHRM has several courses in quantitative analytics and HR analytics, taught by industrialists and professors from IIM A. These courses include lectures on IBM cognitive intelligence, tableau, statistical tool R, and SPSS.
- One of the best parts of the PGDHRM is that it has visiting professors from top institutes such as IIM A, B, C, L, I, XLRI, TISS, and GIMS, as well as senior specialists from ILO and the former Economic Times’ chief editor.
- The PGDHRM also has a special alliance with the Tata Steel Adventure Foundation, which offers a unique leadership experience. As part of this program, students had the opportunity to meet the first woman to reach the summit of Mt. Everest, Bachendri Pal.
- Placement opportunities at the PGDHRM are reportedly higher than those at other institutes and are expected to increase in the coming years. However, the institute places a greater emphasis on instilling a curiosity to learn rather than acting as a placement shop.
While the campus infrastructure may need some improvement, the hostels at the National Games Complex are reportedly very nice. Ultimately, it is students' actions and what they learn that define them, not the physical campus or facilities.
What are the placements like after a BSc in data science from IIT Madras?
IIT Madras is a highly reputed institution in India, and its BSc in data science program offers a plethora of opportunities for students. Graduates of this course get placed in various sectors including finance, healthcare, retail, and technology.
Some of the job roles that graduates can pursue are

This is a new program by IIT Madras, and the first batch is yet to graduate. Internships are also offered in this course. The top recruiting companies are Tech Mahindra, Nissan Renault, Aditya Birla, etc. IIT Madras provides 8-month internships. Almost 100% of students are placed.
The salary package offered is 5 LPA to 6 LPA. The average salary package offered is 18 LPA.

- The courses offered under this program like Python, Machine Learning, Statistics, Deep Learning, Data Structures, and Algorithms make you a strong candidate for Data Scientist at some of the leading software companies.
- Off-campus placements are better as on campus, BSc students face tough competition with Engineering students who take away all the good roles.
There are many with just an MCA or BCA degree from a normal college working with top Companies like Microsoft. Here we are talking about a degree from the Number 1 Engineering college, IIT Madras; you surely will be offered the best job opportunities as well as the freedom to grow.
What is the actual average salary for NMIMS Mumbai? Is it really worthwhile to do an MBA from NMIMS, considering the huge fees and inflated placement reports?
One of my friends got into NMIMS through NMAT. According to him, it was not the most sorted choice as their rankings and placement reports are inflated.
- They show an average package of 16 LPA being offered to 550 students but it is impossible to get that.
- Usually students receive a 12-13 LPA for core subjects and 9-10 LPA for HR.
- NMIMS is a popular brand, thus the brand name attracts lots of students in Hyderabad and Bangalore campus. But they are not good enough as generally promoted.
- IMT, NMIMS, SIBM, XIMB were once one of the top private B-schools . But their standards have degraded recently. Only MDI managed to maintain and move forward.
- No other B-school increased fees like NMIMS. Its fees are more than XLRI and IIM A, B and C.
- The building at NMIMS is also not great, according to the fees that they charge.
- No other college charges its candidates for conducting CDPI or GDPI. Whereas NMIMS students have to pay 1000 rupees.
- After the release of the results, students have to pay fees of about 9 lakhs in just 1 week.
Spending a huge amount for MBA education is not a great idea. People might consider it an investment, but you have to make an informed decision by also considering the ROI. Therefore, if you are an outstation student consider other colleges than NMIMS.

The questions in the entrance exam are mostly based on direct concepts or formulas.
As far as the number of marks necessary is concerned, there is no fixed digit. But at least attempt 70 questions without mistakes. This means you need to score at least 210 marks out of 450. However, this number keeps changing based on the pattern of the question paper.
