How is IIIT Bhopal??

SS
Shilpi Sharma Posted On : December 24th, 2021
B.Tech Computer Science Engineering, Indian Institute Of Information Technology Bhopal (2021)

One of my friends studied at IIIT Bhopal and he has enjoyed his life at the institute. The main attraction is the location as it is well connected with all major states.

The following points are based on my friend’s experience at IIIT Bhopal:

  • In terms of academics, IIIT Bhopal is better than most of the NITs even after established recently.
  • In the first year, you'd discover that the syllabus of IIIT Operation is very flexible.
  • The curriculum is designed to that of a moderate level when compared to IIIT Sri City, which has an excellent curriculum.
  • The faculty is recruited from NIT Bhopal. The IT/CSE faculty were hired on a contract basis.
  • You will get hostels in RGPV, which is a university in MP and the 3rd partner of IIIT Bhopal.
  • There's a free transportation facility available for the hostels situated 18 km away from the institute.
  • You will be given your own room there and it'll all be very cheap as well. A mere 2.5 thousand for a month.
  • No medical facility is available at the hostel.
  • For recreation and extracurriculars, you will not be given access to MANIT societies but can enjoy its fest.
  • You might also get a chance to visit IIIT Allahabad for the IIIT inter sports meet.

You may want to note that any institute, be it IIT, IIIT, or NIT becomes what it is because of its students. They are the cause of its future ratings, so don't go by a tag, rather realize that nothing is perfect.

How good is IIIT Bhopal?

SS
Sugandhi Singh Posted On : April 13th, 2023
B.Tech from IIIT Bhopal

IIIT Bhopal is a national institute of importance and is better than most private colleges. Here's what you need to know:

Placements

  • IIIT Bhopal has emerged at a faster rate than most NITs and IIITs since its establishment in 2017.
  • The highest package offered was 80+ LPA (revised) by Atlassian for the role of a software engineer to one of our super seniors this year.
  • The average package is 16.5 LPA and the median salary is 15 LPA, which is better than most NITs and IIITs.
  • Companies like Amazon also recruit from IIIT Bhopal. 23 students were selected for a pre-placement offer of 45.5 LPA this year.

Academics

  • Academics are average here, and IIIT Bhopal shares some faculties with MANIT Bhopal.
  • IIIT Bhopal's mentor institute is MANIT Bhopal, and classes are held in the NTB building on the MANIT campus.

Hostels

  • Hostels are provided only in the first year in RGPV, which is 20 km away from IIIT Bhopal.
  • You are advised to choose the hostel in the first year as it offers an unforgettable experience and an opportunity to make friends.
  • From the second year onwards, you have to live in flats near MANIT on your own.
  • Seniors will be there to provide you with the best accommodation.

Clubs

  • IIIT Bhopal has many coding, spiritual, and technical clubs that conduct contests and provide guidance to develop your skills.
  • There are also many sports events throughout the year like Inter-IIIT.

If you are confused between a college with a lower branch and IIIT based on placement records, choose IIIT Bhopal, which offers only three branches: CSE, IT, and ECE.

What type of ragging occurs at AIIMS New Delhi?

SK
Singdhanjan Kar Posted On : September 28th, 2021
MBBS from All India Institute of Medical Sciences,New Delhi (2020)

The definition of ragging can be different for different people. Post-2014, ragging has been changed to interaction. These types of interactions exist in all colleges like NIT, IIT, or AIIMS.

But unlike most of the colleges, in AIIMS Delhi, you have the option to not participate in it. After the Supreme Court‘s order, there is no physical abuse and ragging in most of the medical colleges.

Some kind of trolling takes place on social media and if you are a regular social media person, you know that it is very common and cannot be considered as ragging. There are three types of medical colleges in India.

State Medical Colleges- In these types of colleges, ragging goes beyond interaction. For example, in Bihar, you have to salute your seniors and follow a dress code like short hair, formal dress, etc.

AFMC- It is one of the most disciplined colleges in the country. There is no ragging here. The campus is good and seniors are even better and carry out friendly interaction. You might have to call your senior’s sir/ma’am but everyone does it.

AIIMS- We all know that AIIMS Delhi is one of the most prestigious colleges in India. Situations in AIIMS Bhubaneswar, Bhopal, and Jodhpur are more or less the same. There is no ragging and only interaction. Interacting with your seniors in AIIMS just means giving them your introduction for the first time in a few months. Knowing your seniors also helps you in your future as they help you in your studies especially during last-minute preparations.

It is important to keep in mind that in AIIMS Delhi, you will not be forced to do anything.

I got 49 and 70 in 10th and 12th respectively and 7.5 out 10 CGPA in grads. How much do I have to score to get into FMS Delhi?

SJ
Sidhharth Jain Posted On : June 2nd, 2023
Studied at FMS

According to the eligibility criteria, you must have completed a Bachelor's Degree with at least 50% marks at the graduation level (SC/ST: Passing marks; OBC/PWD/CW: 45% weightage as per university rules) or equivalent CGPA.

It doesn’t mention anything about the 10th and 12th marks for being eligible for admission, but there is a weightage of

  • Marks obtained in Class X - 10% weightage (60% and above but less than 75%: 5%, 75% and above: 10%)
  • Marks obtained in Class XII - 10% (60% and above but less than 75%: 5%, 75% and above 10%)

So, you will need to perform really well in the SOP, Extempore, and PI along with the CAT exam to stand a chance for admission.

How was your experience of DTU Spot round?

NT
Nivedita Trivedi Posted On : July 3rd, 2023
Studied At DTU, Delhi

My friend describes her DTU spot round experience as the most surprising and unexpected incident of hers which she is unable to forget to date.

After her average Boards score, she had little hope for selection. Based on the previous cutoff she would get PIE in DTU but she found out that there were only 3 seats for PIE in DTU for GNGNO and they were all opted as the spot round proceeded to 12K. She then thought of getting an MPAE in NSIT although she wasn’t very sure.

After much anticipation and research, she was called up by the committee conducting the spot round and was asked to choose from PCT in DTU or MPAE in NSIT. She happily selected MPAE in NSIT as it was related to Mechanical. After losing all hope she ended up with a good branch and a great institute.

How good is a 7.82 SGPA in DU?

AT
Aryan Thakkar Posted On : February 12th, 2026

CGPA to percentage conversion varies by university—always use your institution's official formula.

Conversion methods:

  • Common Formula: Percentage = CGPA × 9.5 (widely used but not universal).
  • University-Specific: Some use CGPA × 10, CGPA × 9, or custom multipliers—verify officially.
  • Marksheet Reference: Recent marksheets often display both CGPA and percentage equivalents.
  • Official Certificate: For job applications or admissions, request university-issued conversion certificate.
  • Grade Point Scale: 10-point, 4-point, and 5-point scales use different conversion factors.

Check your university's examination section website for authorized conversion formulas. Avoid third-party converters—they may not match your university's method.

What are the reviews about the courses by E&ICT Academy, IIT Roorkee and CloudxLab?

RL
Rishabh Luthra Posted On : April 11th, 2023
Studied at Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee

The courses provided by Cloudxlab, E&ICT Academy and IIT Roorkee are well structured. All the credits go to the excellent CloudxLab team which provides constant assistance on issues related to labs and coursework via the discussion forum.

The course offers hands-on knowledge in Data/ Data Engineering technologies. It is suitable for anyone with basic programming knowledge, SQL database work, and an inclination toward Data Science. There is many differences in the price as well as the curriculum of the courses offered by E&ICT Academy, IIT Roorkee, and CloudxLab.

Merits

  • Well-structured coursework taught through short videos and quizzes for evaluation
  • The discussion forum provides assistance in lab work and projects
  • The solution of the project is available for assistance
  • The videos can be saved for future reference
  • Courses are offered at a discount except the lab access

Demerits

  • The project work has to be completed in the limited timeframe of 3 months
  • Some Spark modules are difficult to comprehend especially by beginners
  • The videos are extremely short and sometimes fail to explain the entire concept
  • Lab web console and Hue editor face technical issues on a regular basis.

Ultimately it can be said that it is a decent learning platform that provides training at subsidiary rates and is growing at an exponential rate.

If I fail a subject in 1st year and pass it in the 1st supplementary will I get a star in my memo JNTUH?

AS
Aishwarya Shastri Posted On : August 3rd, 2023
Lives in Hyderabad

I will suggest that you don’t apply for the intermediate analogy in Graduation. It's a way you can easily pass the subjects based on your convenience throughout the full time of the course. You won’t get any stars in your memo but you will have a memo for each supplementary you write.

The individual memos help you in applying to foreign universities. For other applications, you require a Consolidated Marks Memo which can be easily obtained after clearing all papers. These memos have stars even if you pass in all subjects.

Hope this helped you!
