What should I choose between IIT Patna, IIT Indore, and IIT Bhubaneswar for CSE branch?
All mentioned institutes were founded in the year 2008 except IIT Indore which was founded one year later in 2009. Reputed companies such as Google, Microsoft, Facebook, Samsung, Cognizant, Amazon, Cisco offer jobs to students of these institutions.
The CSE branch at IIT Indore is comparable to the CSE branch of older IITs. Also, it is the highest recruiting branch at IIT Indore with more than 98% of students were placed in 2019. An average package of 16.06 LPA and the highest package of 43 LPA was received in the year 2019. IIT Patna recorded 100% placement for the CSE branch with an average package of 16.76 LPA. The highest package received was around 40 LPA (on-campus). Similarly, 100% placement was recorded in the CSE branch of IIT Bhubaneswar with an average package of 11.44 LPA. The highest domestic CTC offered was 39 LPA in the year 2019.
Apart from placements, CSE department of IIT Indore has 15 research laboratories such as AI (artificial intelligence), Computer Networks, Soft Computing, Database, and Information system. The coding environment of IIT Indore is very good. That is why its CSE department has ranked 4th in all over India. IIT Patna also has a Software lab, Network security lab, Advance lab, and Hardware lab. Among new IITs, IIT Indore and IIT Patna have come a long way in CSE branch. The CSE department of IIT Bhubaneswar is also equipped with research laboratories such as Systems Laboratory, Algorithms Laboratory, Computer Architecture Laboratory, Digital Signal Processing and Embedded Systems Laboratory. The department also offers specialized elective courses such as Software reliability, Artificial Intelligence.
IIT Indore has an edge over these institutions for CSE. But which IIT you should choose is entirely up to you so make the decision according to your convenience.
Which college should I prefer between SIBM Pune and XIMB for MBA-BM regular course?
Having friends studying in both the institutes, I might be able to help you with the question. To conclude which is the best option for you, we have to first compare these two Institutes in the following few criteria.
- Brand value: Usually XIMB over SIBM is preferred, due to its better reputation and brand value. You have to score around 98% in CAT or XAT if you are aiming to secure a seat at XIMB.
- Alumni base: SIBM Pune is older than XIMB and has an illustrious alumni base. Even though XIMB has a great alumni strength, it's not as good as SIBM.
- Location: SIBM is located at the picturesque Lavale village of Pune. Campus is fully enabled with WiFi. Infrastructure is top-notch with modern classrooms and seminar halls. XIMB is located at Bhubaneswar, it is well connected to metropolitan cities. The campus is large compared to SIBM.

Is an electrical student eligible for VLSI in IIT Mandi? How is the placement for that?
Yes, students from the Electrical, Electronics, and Instrumentation branch are eligible for VLSI at IIT Mandi. The first batch for VLSI began in 2016, and most of the students got placed in top semi-conductor industries, while others are research scholars in their respective areas. The paced students are at ST Microelectronics, Cadence, Synopsys, Intel, NXP, and so on. IIT Mandi is best for their placement support to the students and you can opt for IIT Mandi.
Which is better, IIM Nagpur or IMI Delhi, both for PGP and PGDM courses respectively?

IIEST: The institute offers facilities such as halls of residence, Library, Labs, Canteen, School, etc. It also provides medical facilities like hospitals and ambulances, sports and games clubs, and entrepreneurship activities.

VNIT: Students are offered Hostels, Guesthouse, Gymnasium, Sports, Health Centre, and Library facilities within the 215 acres campus. There are clubs and community shops as well.
Students must compare both the programs and colleges carefully. The decision depends on an individual’s capabilities and expectations from college life.
Which should I prefer, civil engineering at IIT Hyderabad or ECE at ISM Dhanbad?
Irrespective of the IIT tag you go for, Civil Engineering always has limited placements. Civil Engineering has become an outdated branch with little or no scope left. Although there are people who go for various options after pursuing civil engineering, which may include UPSC Examinations. What I mean is that Civil Engineering is not the right choice if your goal is placements. In that case consider ECE from ISM Dhanbad. Owing to the increased research in Machine Learning, the ECE branch is expected to grow ten folds in the coming future.
Additionally, ECE in IIT (ISM) has a pretty good coding and robotics culture, so you have both options, going for core jobs or CS jobs.
Ultimately, it’s all about personal inclinations. All I suggest is that never go for a mediocre rank just because a certain IIT is better than the other. The choice of your branch is equally important as the choice of your institute. Moreover, the Civil engineering scenario is similar in every IITs.

IIT Mandi guarantees the best placement support. Usually, the students prefer CSC rather than EE, but when we look into the curriculum of EE, it has a significant part in electronic studies.
Other than this, the most significant feature of IIT Mandi is its branch change policy. Most of the students prefer a branch change after the first year. You can also be a part of it if you have an interest in coding and software. So, you can opt for IIT Mandi based on your interest in the core subject.
Which one should I take, NIT Silchar mechanical or IIIT Guwahati for CSE?

Which should be preferred, CS at VNIT or EEE at NIT Surathkal?
You are comparing two different branches; Computer (CSE) and Electrical (EEE). If you are naturally inclined towards a particular branch, then you should choose it no matter the institute. If you are not sure about the branch then let me share some facts I got to know while researching about the institutes.
- NIRF Engineering Ranking 2020 – VNIT Nagpur is ranked 27 while NIT Surathkal is ranked 13.
- Academics – In this regard both are equal. Some professors are good and some are really bad.
- Extra-Curricular Activities – NIT Surathkal is way better than VNIT Nagpur. You will always find some activity happening on the campus. VNIT Nagpur does not have any such activities being conducted regularly.
- Campus location – VNIT Nagpur is actually better than NIT Surathkal. Although the Surathkal beach which is right beside the college looks good in photos, the same cannot be said in person. The VNIT Nagpur campus on the other hand is clean and green.
- Workshops – At VNIT Nagpur most of the workshops organized by the clubs are paid while at NIT Surathkal most of them were free and open to all.
