Which institute is doing better currently (in terms of industry exposure, placements and the profiles offered) among Tapmi, KJ and GIM?

When it comes to choosing between KJ, TAPMI, and GIM, it's important to consider the specific specializations you're interested in. In general, KJ tends to have an edge over TAPMI and GIM in most areas, except for IT and HR. TAPMI has recently started a specialized course in HR and sees good placements in IT, making it a good option for these two specializations. However, for other specializations, KJ is often considered the top choice.

When it comes to marketing, GIM tends to be preferred over TAPMI. However, for other specializations, TAPMI tends to be a stronger option.

Overall, if you're looking for a well-rounded MBA program that offers strong placements across a variety of specializations, KJ is often the top choice. However, if you're interested in IT or HR, TAPMI may be a better fit. And if you're specifically interested in marketing, GIM may be the better option. Ultimately, the choice between these schools will depend on your specific interests, career goals, and personal preferences. It's important to thoroughly research each program and consider all of the factors before making a decision.

Which is a better option, NMIMS in Bangalore or Goa Institute of Management for PGDM in finance?

SL
Saija Luthra Posted On : March 1st, 2023
Career Counsellor (2001–present)

NMIMS in Bangalore is widely recognized as one of the top business schools in India, with a history of over three decades of successful operation. The reason why companies visit these institutions for placement is due to the reputation and quality of their students. NMIMS is proud to have both of these factors.

When it comes to tuition fees, it is typical for top-tier PGDM colleges to have similar fees. This can be attributed to the quality of education and resources provided by the NMIMS and Goa Institute of Management for PGDM in finance.

Will good institutes like TAPMI, MDI Murshidabad, and Goa Institute of Management lose out to the baby IIMs due to their location disadvantage?

TA
Tithi Aggrawal Posted On : June 26th, 2023

First, the location of a management institute is not a significant factor in its success, as evidenced by the fact that companies will go anywhere to obtain the best solutions. Second, the cut-off percentile for admission is the most critical factor that determines the quality of students admitted and, therefore, the success of an institute.

All institutes, including TAPMI, MDI Murshidabad, and Goa Institute of Management, will lose out to the baby IIMs, regardless of their location, because the baby IIMs have set their cut-off percentile at around 96%. As a result, the baby IIMs will attract uniformly intelligent students, which will build confidence among students and eventually, the corporate world. Baby IIMs will eventually catch up and be as good as older IIMs and IITs.
While students are the most important aspect of a management institute's performance, professors, research, curriculum, and infrastructure also matter. An institute's location can help attract top faculty, improve research, and provide industry networks and collaborations.

Can a student from TAPMI/BIM/GIM join in a brand manager profile?

AB

Depending on the student's performance. Many GIM alumni work for companies like Unilever, Brittania, Godrej, etc. The same ought to apply to these different colleges too.

An institution will provide you with classes and advise you on what material you should read. The candidate is always the one who does the actual job.

I am a general category non engineer fresher who scored 89.5 percentile in the CAT. Can I get a call from GIM? Also which college is better between TAPMI and FORE in terms of placements and ROI?

To get admission in GIM Goa, I think 89.5 percentile and general non-engineer is a decent profile. People start to get admissions into baby IIMs from 93-94 percentile, so it seems easy at this profile all you need to do is excel in the interview and group discussion (if GIM organizes one).

Between TAPMI and FORE, you can go for TAPMI, as it offers good placements and a good lifestyle, FORE is also a good option if you are a Delhi or nearby resident I would suggest opting for FORE, as the ROI for both the institutes are almost identical. Still, apart from ROI, TAPMI excels in other parameters.

Which college would be best between management colleges like TAPMI Manipal, GOA Institute of Management, Great Lakes Chennai, and FORE Institute Delhi?

AJ
Advait Joshi Posted On : April 18th, 2023
Lives in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India

Based on location, reputation, and potential for job placement, the first college on the list, "Great Lakes," is the best, but it is only for people with work experience and not for freshers.

"FORE," located in Delhi, is the second best college and its institutional location makes industry exposure easy.

"Goa Institute," is not as good as the first two but still has good characteristics.

Last on the list is "TAPMI," which lacks a strong alumni base, and its graduates may have less networking and job chances than graduates from other universities with larger alumni networks.

Among PGDM-FS from K J Somaiya, GIM PGDM, and SIIB, what should I choose?

AT
Anuja Trivedi Posted On : May 9th, 2022
studied at K.J. Somaiya Institute of Management Studies and Research

For a PGDM FS, KJ Somaiya is the best option among these. The institute has a locational advantage since it is situated at the financial hub of the country, i.e. Mumbai.  KJ Somaiya placements are great. According to the 2022 interim placement report, the average CTC offered to the students was INR 10.25 LPA, while the highest CTC offered was INR 26.50 LPA.

Between GIM and SIIB, the letter offers better industrial relations and better job roles in campus placements.
