After doing some research online, I would say that all the courses at ISI Kolkata are amazing if you know which field you have to choose. Everything depends on your choice of the field as every field is distinct from one another.
Now, I would mention that for M.Tech CS & QROR, these are already well-established Programs and need no introduction.
QROR:
CS:
Crypto:
I hope this helps you in clearing how all the three courses are distinct from each other. Each has its different criteria and comfort.
As it’s a new IIT, the Metallurgy department is still developing in IIT Bhubaneswar. But this department is equipped with state-of-art lab equipment. School of Minerals, Metallurgical and Materials Engineering (SMMME) in IIT Bhubaneswar has an excellent fusion of faculty members from diverse backgrounds of minerals, metals, and materials engineering. This school has signed a partnership with the Institute of Minerals and Materials Technology (CSIR-IMMT) at Bhubaneswar. There is also a student and faculty exchange program with Warwick Manufacturing Group (WMG) at Warwick University, UK, and Shanghai Jiao Tong University, China. Also, according to 2019 placement statistics, 68% of the total M.Tech batch was placed with core and other sectors with salary packages ranging from 10 – 16 lakh per annum.
According to the National Institutional Ranking Framework 2019, IIT BHU ranks at 14. The department of Metallurgy in IIT BHU is well equipped with lab instruments. Being an old IIT it also has great facilities and a large alumni base. Companies like Tata Steel, Tata motors, Saint Gobain, Flipkart, Oyo, Maruti Suzuki, etc visit the campus for placement of M.tech students.
IIT Bhubaneswar and IIT BHU, both the IITs are good choices for doing M.Tech in Metallurgy. So, pick one according to your convenience.
If you are going to take admission for M.Tech in any of these colleges it will be worth the choice. All are quite established and are doing great in curriculum and placements.
But there is always the best among the rest and hence, I would like to suggest you opt for NIT Durgapur. It beats both IIIT Allahabad and IIITM Gwalior. Also, regarding the two IIITs, IIIT Allahabad certainly does better than IIITM Gwalior in competitive programming and placements
| Categories | NIT Durgapur | IIIT Allahabad | IIITM Gwalior |
| Course Fee | 1.32 lakhs | 1.60 lakhs | 1.84 lakhs |
| Highest CTC | 24 LPA | 25 LPA | 19 LPA |
| Average CTC | 8-10 LPA | 12 LPA | 11 LPA |
| Recruiting Companies | Wipro, Infosys, etc. | Accenture, HP, etc. | Capgemini, Cognizant, etc. |
It is suggested you go for NIT Durgapur. Definitely, do your side of research as well for a clear choice among all the three colleges.
Whether it is new or old, an IIT is still an IIT. Once you complete your degree, you will always be an IITian and be eligible for its advantages throughout your professional life. Electrical Sciences, the category under which ECE falls, is in an average position in terms of placement.
During the IIT Bhubaneswar placement in 2022, the highest salary offered to BTech students was INR 44.10 LPA. Additionally, the highest packages for BTech and MTech were INR 44.10 LPA and INR 17.13 LPA, respectively, during IIT BBS placements in 2022. 88% of applicants are placed. There are some problems with it because it is a new IIT.
This totally depends upon your interest in the subject. You should give preference to the subject rather than a degree from college because your subject will shape your future.
The school of water resources is one of the pioneer centers for education and training in water quality and quantity management. There is an advanced research water quality lab in IIT Kharagpur. It is an old IIT and will provide more opportunities for higher studies in foreign universities, people also go to foreign universities from IIT Bhubaneswar but opportunities in IIT KGP will be more.
The water resources have limited scope considering the Indian employment scenario. If you are giving preference to the subject then join IIT Bhubaneswar. If your preference is not the subject then join IIT KGP because exposure and opportunities will be more in IIT KGP. A student planning for Ph.D. after M-tech will have much better scopes in IIT KGP than IIT Bhubaneswar.

IIT Dhanbad is one of the oldest IITs, so it is a good choice to study MTech in EEE from there. However, being a student of IIT Bhubaneswar I would suggest opting for MTech in EEE from IIT Bhubaneswar.
