What is the total cost for B.Des in DTU??

P
PhantomLeitmotif Posted On : March 24th, 2026

DTU is well-known for its technical courses. I checked the website, and it doesn’t provide much information about the design department. If you have the option to join a reputed design institute, go for it! Otherwise, DTU can be a choice. You can also intern at IIT. Always stay connected with design students from different colleges!

Is it worth doing an BBA/BMS at DTU if my main goal is to land a high-paying job??

A
AzureHapless Posted On : March 23rd, 2026

Honestly, doing a BBA at DTU is a mixed bag if you're eyeing a high-paying job. The placement stats show that only about 30-35% of students land jobs through the college placement cell, which is pretty low. The highest package offered is 13.5 LPA, and the average sits at around 6 LPA. If you're determined to make the most out of it, you might need to put in a lot of extra effort on networking and internships, especially since you have to find your own internship after the new rules were implemented. So, while the course itself is solid with good faculty, just be prepared to hustle for those jobs.

Should I go for B.Tech Mechanical Engineering in DTU or B.Tech Internet of Things in NIT Kurukshetra?

S
SilentSynthesis Posted On : March 22nd, 2026

DTU Mechanical is generally considered better than NIT Kurukshetra. Some industries specifically visit DTU for campus drives, and the college offers various specializations in mechanical engineering, which attracts more core companies. Additionally, if you're interested in coaching for PSUs and M.Tech, Made Easy is located in Delhi. There's also a Bosch training center available in Delhi. The better closing ranks of DTU compared to NIT Kurukshetra and PEC, along with its location in Delhi, further support the argument for choosing DTU.

Should I go for B.Tech Industrial & Production Engineering in DTU or BE Electrical Engineering in Jadavpur University?

M
MoonlitMadness Posted On : March 22nd, 2026

Well, first of all, let me clarify that every comparison is relative, and I won't be biased in this answer. Ranking: According to NIRF rankings, Jadavpur University (JU) is in a much better position than DTU. Economy: In terms of economy, there’s no comparison. However, DTU also offers a very good return on investment. Location: Location-wise, DTU has a slight edge over JU, but JU is also situated in the heart of a metropolitan city. Infrastructure: Both colleges have well-maintained infrastructure, but if I had to choose one, I'd go for DTU. Placement: DTU's placements can't compare with JU's. To be honest, JU's placements in a few departments are on par with IIT Kharagpur's placements. Huge lush green pollution-free campus: Yes! This is something you will love—a huge, lush green, pollution-free campus. Opportunities: Both colleges will provide multiple opportunities if you are a deserving student. However, the success rate in competitive exams like GATE, CAT, and XAT is slightly higher from Jadavpur University. Even the 2nd ranker in ESE (CE) in 2019 is from Jadavpur University. Now, it's up to you to decide which college you want to be in. I can assure you one thing: if you choose wisely, you will have a great experience!

What is the average placement of DTU??

P
PhantomLocal Posted On : March 22nd, 2026

DTU is one of the top engineering colleges in India, and calling its placement decent would be an understatement! Being located in the capital city, this institution boasts some of the best placement opportunities in the country.

Major recruiters include:

  • Microsoft
  • DirectI
  • Amazon
  • Samsung
  • BCG
  • Bain
  • Big 4
  • Works Applications
  • Daikin Belgium
  • Maruti
  • Texas Instruments
  • Qualcomm
  • SanDisk

The list goes on! In recent years, even PSUs have started participating in placement drives. Companies like IOCL, BHEL, and HPCL have visited the campus.

While I don't have the exact figures or salaries offered, you can definitely expect competitive salaries from these MNCs. The hard truth is that securing a position in any particular company will depend on the skills you acquire during your four years at college. If you develop the right skills, you will surely find a way!

Does DTU give CPI or aggregate in BA at the end?

R
RadiantHullabaloo Posted On : March 22nd, 2026

At DTU, we get the CPI (Cumulative Performance Index) for our BA course. It’s a bit different from aggregate marks, which I found interesting. The CPI reflects our overall performance throughout the semesters, and it’s calculated based on our grades in all subjects. I’m currently in my second year, and the grading system helps me understand where I stand compared to my peers.

Which one should I opt for DTU B.Tech Industrial & Production Engineering or Jadavpur University Information Technology

F
FluffyFelon Posted On : March 21st, 2026

In my research, I found that DTU's B.Tech in Industrial & Production Engineering offers exceptional placement opportunities with companies like Google and Microsoft, boasting the highest package around 1.8 crore and a solid average package of 12 lakhs. In contrast, Jadavpur University's Information Technology program also has good placements, but the highest package is around 1 crore, which is lower than DTU. DTU students can secure internships that often lead to pre-placement offers, and with a higher number of companies recruiting, it seems the job prospects are stronger there.

So, if you're focused on maximizing your job and salary potential, DTU is the better bet, especially if you have an interest in mechanics and the industrial sector. If you're leaning towards a tech-centric path and value a slightly different academic environment, Jadavpur University could still be a great choice.

How is B.Tech Information Technology branch at DTU? What about its placement in 2025/26??

S
SpectralWhisper Posted On : March 21st, 2026

I’m currently pursuing B.Tech in Information Technology at DTU, and I must say, the course is well-structured. The faculty-student ratio is great, and most professors have impressive qualifications. Internships are offered by big names like Amazon and various startups, giving us a chance to work as software developers or in HR roles. Looking ahead to placements in 2025/26, I've seen companies like Snapdragon and C Sharp recruiting from our campus. There are plenty of opportunities, and the overall placement scenario looks promising.

What is the cutoff rank for BBA/BMS at DTU?

S
SilentSnake Posted On : March 21st, 2026

I got into the BBA program at DTU, and I’d say the cutoff rank is around 2000 for 2026. It's not just about the rank though; you need to score well in CUET too! The competition is stiff, especially since the college has a great reputation. If you love business studies like I do, it’s definitely worth aiming high!
