Life at AIIMS Delhi cannot be compared to other AIIMS as it is the mother AIIMS and will always be a notch better than others. Also, its location plays a major advantage in giving you the best college-life experience.
After AIIMS, what was fulfilled by expectations of a dynamic college life was AIIMS Jodhpur. It certainly is heaven for food lovers and has many watering openings every now and then. For everyone, there is a set criteria for a good college life and for my sister, it was one that gave her freedom and academics on the same plate. AIIMS Jodhpur ended up as the best choice fulfilling both criteria.
- AIIMS Jodhpur has a huge campus that is maintained decently and is very safe. My sister loved strolling across the campus and enjoying the serenity of the campus.
- There are many places to travel to during weekends and Rajasthan is a good option.

Which AIIMS is better, AIIMS BBSR or AIIMS Patna?
I am the right person to answer this question as I have visited both institutes for personal purposes and am eligible to comment on their worth. When it comes to AIIMS, there are 2 primary factors to consider.
- Culture: Considering the fact that all AIIMS are on the same level with minor differences, it’s the college culture you are looking for that becomes the driving factor in your decision. North Indians who don’t want a change in environment prefer AIIMS Patna while those who want to explore other cultures and go out of their comfort zone choose AIIMS Bhubaneswar.
- Academics: Again, all AIIMS are almost equal academically but AIIMS Bhubaneswar is slightly better. Additionally, Bhubaneswar is more developed than Patna and has all the basic amenities that a student requires. Patna has a less student-friendly environment and also lacks hygiene due to overpopulation.
All in all, these two factors should not be the only factors you consider and it’s better to talk to alumni
How is AIIMS Patna academically? How is its campus and hostel? Is it a good choice?
AIIMS Patna is academically at par with all newly established AIIMS in 2012 and is considered an institute of great importance providing excellent medical education. The institute boasts of a splendid infrastructure attracting many medical aspirants from all over India.
- AIIMS Patna has a massive campus spread across an area of over 100 acres excluding a residential complex that is built on a 34-acre area.
- The infrastructure is excellent, comprising an OPD building, a trauma center, 8 well-equipped OTs, a Blood bank, and an auditorium,
- The architecture of the institute is unique with Madhubani paintings all over highlighting the rich culture of Bihar.
- AIIMS Patna has a big library that operated 24/7
- AIIMS Patna also has 24/7 wifi facilities.
- AIIMS Patna hostel facilities are top-notch with single occupancy rooms. A typical room has basic furniture like a bed with a storage trolley, a table and a chair, a wardrobe and a bookshelf.

It's important to note that there is no mixed training as the gym timings are different for boys and girls.
How is Freedom In AIIMS Patna?
This depends on what you consider as ‘freedom’. But one thing I got to know from the reviews online is that in AIIMS Patna there are not many restrictions for the students.
- You are actually allowed to live your life to a great extent.
- But do not expect much in the first year, since you are just getting started. After that, it is just a cakewalk.
- You can roam around the campus and find your way. Although it is basic etiquette to greet your professors when you meet them on campus.
- It is a great thing that you can also visit in the OPD blocks, talk to the patients or even seniors and teachers who are posted there until and unless you are wearing an apron.
- Likewise, you have access to the administrative building and library as well 24*7 with your apron on.
- You can even go out at night time but first-year students need to be back by 9 pm sharp.
Lastly, first-year students are not allowed to fool around as couples holding hands and spending time publicly. The most important thing- boys and girls are not allowed in each other’s hostels. You will figure it out once you are not a fresher anymore. You will eventually get accustomed to it.

- Extra-curricular Activities- There is a Football field, a Cricket ground, and three Badminton courts on campus. For Music and Table Tennis also, separate rooms have been provided. The college is planning to construct an indoor stadium along with a swimming pool and a Basketball court.
Thus, AIIMS Patna is a very good college worth your consideration. If not anything, being a central government-regulated institution brings it certain advantages over and above well-known State Medical Colleges. The tag of AIIMS is also worth consideration.
Is it worth taking admission for an MBBS at AIIMS Rishikesh or Raipur or Patna if I am getting good colleges from the state counselling like RML Lucknow or GSVM Kanpur?
AIIMS Rishikesh, Raipur or Patna all are well reputed institutes and should not be underestimated. They are institutes of national importance and autonomous institutes of central government.
The infrastructure of AIIMS Raipur is better than most state medical colleges of India. The only disadvantage is that you won't be able to get a 50% state quota in NEET PG.
