What percentile is needed for XLRI Jamshedpur?

AS
Aanand Sharma Posted On : April 18th, 2023
MBA in Marketing & Operations, Xavier School of Management

XLRI Jamshedpur accepts XAT scores for admission. XLRI Jamshedpur PGDM Admission Cutoff for the year 2023 remains somewhere between 92-95 percentile for general category candidates.

However, please note that meeting the cutoff percentile does not guarantee admission as XLRI also considers other factors such as academic performance, work experience, and performance in the interview round. Additionally, different programs at XLRI may have different cutoffs, so it's best to check the official website for the latest information.

Can I get into CSE in KIIT with a rank of 5342?

FS

A few years back my friend made it to KIIT with a 6000 rank. But, now KIIT has increased its student intake and anyone can get a good branch with this rank.

You may not get the seat in the 1st counseling as the closing rank was 5356 this year. But you will surely get through with the 3rd or 4th counseling. You can get a branch to upgrade according to the seats available.

The catch is that the number of seats has increased, reciprocatively the demand for CSE has also increased. Your chance of getting a CSE is good.

Can I get into CSE in IET Lucknow this year with a 2,371 rank in general quota taking into consideration that this year HBTI is through the Mains?

You have to wait till the final counseling takes place which is open for all. In the meantime, you should take admission in any branch you get there and wait for final counseling.

Taking into consideration that HBTI is now not taking admission through UPSEE the first option for students would be IET Lucknow.

Talking about the previous year's closing general rank in CSE was somewhat around 2600. So you can predict the answer to your question.

Check the cut off rank for IET Lucknow:

Branches Opening & Closing Rank
Chemical Engineering 929-20821
Civil Engineering 180-1260
Computer Science and Engineering 2-120
Information Technology 233-325
Mechanical Engineering 424-1310

But you can also opt for EC, EE, EI, CE, and CHE as CS, IT, and ME may get filled earlier. In my opinion, you won't be getting any CSE seats on this rank in IET Lucknow.

How much GATE score does an EC student require to get into NITIE?

HV
Harshika Verma Posted On : August 16th, 2021
PGDIE from National Institute of Industrial Engineering (2020)

The minimum GATE score to get admission to NITIE is different every year, but it is generally between 700-750 for all the branches. However, if you belong to any reserved category, your cutoff score could be less than the General category.

If your score is above the minimum score required, you will probably get a call for an interview. After receiving the call, you will have to appear for the GD-PI round. Your final selection and the allotment of the branch will depend upon your academic records and performance in the GD and PI round.

Hence, the GATE score required to get admission in NITIE is generally very high above 750, but all this is worth it because the college offers very good facilities and placement opportunities to ita students.

My rank in the JEE Mains is 11900. Can I get a CS in NIT Goa or should I look some other options?

AM

I have a few friends from the institute and according to them with a rank of 11900 in JEE Mains it will be difficult to get into CSE at NIT Goa. You should look for other colleges in order to get into your preferred branch. Here is the cutoff of NIT Goa for 2021.

B.Tech branches General
Home State  Outside State
Civil Engineering  87610 31362-35494
Computer Science and Engineering  14581 7420-10323
Electrical & Electronics Engineering  73349 19728-21121
Electronics and Communication Engineering  34058 - 53405 14553 - 16711
Mechanical Engineering  82553 - 83783 23542 - 26295

Look for the previous year's cutoff on the previous JEE main website, which will give a pretty rough idea about what branch and college you can get into. However, I will not recommend NIT Goa for CSE. Since it is a new college and no big or well-known companies come there for placements. Infrastructure and resources are not as par according to NIT standards. You can also try some private universities such as BITS, Thapar, VIT, or MIT.

The selection procedure for MS (Master of Science) at IIT Madras typically involves the following steps:

  1. Online Application: You must apply online through the official website of IIT Madras. They need to fill in personal, academic, and other relevant details in the application form.
  2. Entrance Exam: You have to appear for the entrance exam to get admission to the MS program. For engineering programs, the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is the most common entrance exam.
  3. Shortlisting: After the entrance exam, you will be shortlisted based on your performance in the exam.
  4. Interview: You will be called in for an interview. The interview assesses your knowledge in respective fields, problem-solving skills, and communication skills.
  5. Final Selection: The final selection will be based on your performance in the entrance exam, interview, and academic records.

GATE cutoff for civil engineering at IIT Madras varies every year and depends on various factors such as the number of applicants, the difficulty level of the exam, and the number of available seats.

The GATE cutoff for IIT Madras civil engineering for the last three years is given below:

What should be the spot round cut off for Electrical branch in PEC Chandigarh?

IM
Imran Malhotra Posted On : April 30th, 2021
B.Tech Computer Science and Engineering, Punjab Engineering College, Chandigarh

The cutoffs are released after the spot round. So, it’s difficult to say what is the required cutoff for Electrical branch in the spot round at PEC Chandigarh.

But assuming that you are from the open/general category, these are the starting cut-off ranks for recent years.

Category

Other State

Home State

General

12781-17622

17194-28074

SC

1848-4611

2586-7591

ST

1456-1650

-

GeneralPwD

477-1022

-

Since the number of seats in PEC is the same as last year (no increase or decrease) you can expect fairly the same ranks this year too. So, work hard and make sure you get in the rank range.

Can I get admission into NITIE in the SCM or Ops course by taking the GATE mechanical? If yes, what is the cut-off?

MD
Mehul Dutta Posted On : August 11th, 2021
Studied at the National Institute of Industrial Engineering (2019)

Yes, it is possible to join NITIE by any of the GATE examinations streams. Few of my friends got admission at NITIE through GATE.

Admission to NITIE Mumbai through the GATE examinations from any stream of engineering will make you land up at NITIE in PGDIE – PG Diploma in Industrial Engineering.

There are two new courses available at NITIE, Mumbai: PGDPM – Project Management and PGDMM – Manufacturing Management. You can take admission to these courses through GATE too.

Coming to cut-offs, it varies from year to year. For this year the GATE cutoff score (general) was 609. If you feel you have a decent score and you'll get a GD, PI shortlist, and then you can convert it.

What score should an Indian engineer get on the CAT to get into NITIE?

PS
Pushkar Sen Posted On : August 13th, 2021
MBA Operations, National Institute of Industrial Engineering (2019)

NITIE considers CAT cut-offs for admission into its two courses: PGDIM and PGDISEM. The cut-off changes every year depending upon the difficulty level of the CAT examination. But, an average cut-off as per the past trends is below.

Category PGDIM CAT Percentile PGDISEM CAT Percentile
General 97 86
OBC 75 75
SC/ST 65 75
PwD 75 65

The above percentiles are enough to fetch a call for the GDPI process of the final selection. But it does not guarantee admission as it also depends upon other factors like work experience, past academics, extra-curricular, gender diversity, and others.

Overall, the score should be high in CAT, as it is one of the important factors for admission.
