AC
Anamika Chaudhuri Posted On : July 13th, 2021
Studied at Chandigarh University (2019)

As far as the name of the university is concerned, let me tell you that PESIT became PES University back in 2014.

It is also known as PESU and like every other university, it also has its own advantages and disadvantages. The authorities at the university are keen on trying to create a strong workforce.

  • With PESU being in the early stages of its development, it also requires attention in many areas. For this, the authorities are quite careful with and everything.
  • Now, when you talk about PESIT VTU or PESIT South Campus, this college follows the pattern set by VTU. So, you can easily trust it.
  • This pattern has been tried and tested and quite a lot of colleges are known to follow it. But, PESU on the other hand, is trying something new.

The first batch at PESU passed out in 2018. You can accordingly check how well this and the other batches are doing and if taking admission at PESU is a risk worth undertaking.

Categories PESIT PESU
Course Fee 13.6 lakh 2.35 lakh
Highest CTC 30 LPA 35 LPA
Average CTC 12 LPA 16 LPA
Recruiting Companies Wipro, Cognizant, Infosys, HP, etc. TCS, IBM, Accenture, Capgemini, etc.

If you are looking for a practical and useful curriculum, you should think of applying to PESU as the curriculum here will provide you with exactly this.

What did you learn from campus placements experience at NSIT??

SG
Shashank Gupta Posted On : August 24th, 2023
B.E from Netaji Subhas Institute of Technology (2020)

Here are some important things I learned from the campus placements at NSUT Delhi-

  1. It’s a harsh reality but luck plays a huge role in placements. Sometimes it will shock you how people with no potential at all get offered great job opportunities.
  2. Confidence and patience are really important during placements.
  3. You need to prepare well to get placed. By sitting for various companies too, you will get a lot of experience and exposure on the do’s and don'ts.
  4. Placement season is the best and worst time of your college life. This is when you get to know the difference between fake and real friends.
  5. Learn to be satisfied with the job that you end up in. It is your grades, caliber, and level of preparation that have brought you here. A comparison with others is of no use.
  6. Sometimes people become rude after getting placed in a top company for a good package. Learn to ignore them and remain calm.
  7. Only you know your hard work, worth and potential. Don’t let others talk you down with rude words.
  8. Some of your close friends may not get a good placement. This is the time when you support them.
  9. Utilize your time after placements. Get productive, don’t be lazy.

These experiences aren’t just limited to the placement season of NSUT Delhi, they are common for all the colleges/ universities.

I want to pursue a master's in economics. Which one should I choose: Delhi School of Economics, JNU, Indian Statistical Institute, Paris-Sorbonne University or University of Munich?

SG
Snigdha Goyal Posted On : July 8th, 2022
Studied at Delhi School of Economics

All of these institutes are excellent choices for a masters in Economics. If you want to study Quantitative and Mathematical Economics, then ISI will be the best option among these. ISI Kolkata placements are pretty good. Students get recruited as Data scientists, Financial Analysts, Risk Analysts, and other similar positions. You will get good scopes for higher studies as well.

DSE is an excellent option for Economics masters. It offers good placements. Recent highlights of DSE placements show the average CTC for MA Economics is around INR 5 LPA. But the institute has a huge batch size.

Paris Sorbonne University and University of Munich are excellent options as well. These institutes are especially good for research.

Which is better —BIT Mesra or BITS Hyderabad for cse?

AM
Amrita Mukherjee Posted On : September 19th, 2022
B.E.(Hons.) Electrical Engineering, BITS Pilani, Hyderabad Campus (2018)

For CSE, BITS Hyderabad is better. The course structure and curriculum are the same for all three of the BITS campus. The placements are also similar. It is the location that differentiates the two campuses. Being an IT hub, Hyderabad offers better live projects, internships, and placement opportunities. BITS Hyderabad placement highlights show the average CTC for CSE to be around INR 22 LPA.

What is it like to study at IISER Kolkata?

KS
Krishna Srivastav Posted On : December 21st, 2021
BS-MS Physics & Mathematics, Indian Institute of Science Education and Research, Kolkata

Some of my friends attend IISER Kolkata and here are some snippets from their experiences.

  • The academics at the institute is great. The faculty base is great. Especially for DMS (Department of Mathematics and Statistics), and DPS (Department of Physical Sciences). The professors teach in a sophisticated and rigorous manner. It’s not unusual to see professors performing scientific experiments in front of the whole class to demonstrate a scientific concept.
  • The academic structure is designed to support undergraduate research. Tutorials are fun but it depends on your TA.
  • You will also get to attend lectures by world-renowned scientists right from your first year.
  • The student crowd is great. You will get to meet some of the smartest minds in the country on campus. Most students go on to pursue research in various fields, later.
  • There aren’t many clubs at IISER Kolkata. However, the ones existing are quite good. The music club organizes various band competitions throughout the academic year. There is a fully equipped music room. You will find many instruments there including a Les Paul model guitar. There is also a dramatics club named AARSHI.

This should give you an idea of what it’s like to attend IISER Kolkata.

How do I prepare for the NPAT (NMIMS)?

SM
Subham Mukharjee Posted On : July 9th, 2021
Studied Master of Business Administration Degrees & Marketing at SVKM's NMIMS (2018)

National Test for Programs After Twelfth (NPAT) as the name suggests is an entrance test conducted by NMIMS to admit students to its various undergraduate and integrated programs. It is a 100-minute Computer Based Test (CBT) consisting of three sections; Quantitative and Numerical Ability, Reasoning and General Intelligence, and Proficiency in English Language. To prepare for the tests you may follow some of the following points.

  • Complete your syllabus by the end of December and start giving mock tests next.
  • Thoroughly analyze them to understand your strengths and weaknesses.
  • For the Quantitative and the Reasoning sections speed is a key factor. So practice some shortcuts along the way as well.
  • For English, make a habit of reading newspapers daily to improve your language knowledge and vocabulary.
  • In Reasoning section, they sometimes ask logical puzzles. So practice 5-10 problems each day from Youtube.
  • You may also solve some previous year’s question papers to understand the pattern.
  • Mind games such as Sudoku, Crossword Puzzles will also help you crack reasoning questions faster.

Now as I see it, all the sections are fairly easy to crack with a little effort. You may also use YouTube for learning concepts. If you wish you could join some crash courses as well. Arihant’s DU JAT-BMS books are great for clearing concepts.
