How is IIIT - Allahabad main campus?

AV
Ankit Vardhan Posted On : March 15th, 2021
IIIT Allahabad

The campus is a really beautiful place. It is located in Jhalwa, Allahabad and the infrastructure is really great. Most of the colleges you will see have a perpendicular style of architecture. This is not the case with IIIT A. You will find beautiful Penrose architecture stretching over 100 acres of land. They also have some of the best facilities to support the coding culture that the college boasts about.

There are also a number of hostels for boys. There are four so far and a newly constructed fifth boys hostel is also operational now. This is right outside the campus. As for girls, there are three hostels, which are located within the campus.

Another major plus point is that the campus provided residential facilities as well. These are mainly used by the faculty, the research scholars, and Ph.D. students. Moreover, you will also find a cafeteria and a small shopping center as well. You can buy your daily essentials here.

If you get bored, you can consider going to the Civil Lines at Allahabad but that’s about it. A campus is definitely a good place but you may get bored after some time, considering it is almost situated in a village.

Which course is better: B. Commerce Hons or BA Economics Hons from DU?

DB
Divjot Bagga Posted On : October 6th, 2022
Studied at University of Delhi

The answer to this question will rely on your future goals, what you compassionately dream of doing, and what you believe you will truly like. However, Economics Honors from DU is one of the best courses with exceptional scope and value in the corporate world. Everyone is aware that the University of Delhi's most prestigious course is Economics Hons. Rapidly rising cutoffs provide proof of this.

Additionally, compared to other courses, it offers higher placement prospects. Nevertheless, immense power entails great responsibility. It's not the kind of subject you can get by with just one night of studying. It necessitates commitment and diligence. Additionally, it is the most challenging course the university offers. So, BA Economics is the best option for anyone who is keenly interested in the subject.

BA Economics(Hons) is DU's most difficult yet prestigious course. As a result, if you are in the unreserved category, you will need a higher percentage. Try to get a score of 90% or higher to get into DU, and 95% or higher to get into DU's good colleges. In the end, it all comes down to your score.

AM
Ankit Mishra Posted On : May 30th, 2022
PGDM Marketing Management & Operations Management, Jagan Institute of Management Studies (2017)

JIMS Rohini isn’t a good option for management studies. There are many other better management institutes in the Delhi NCR region such as IMI Delhi, BIMTECH, and Jaipuria Institute of Management.

JIMS has a good infrastructure. Due to the locational advantages, you will also get good exposure to industries in Delhi NCR. According to JIMS Rohini placements 2022, the average CTC offered to the students is around INR 7.5 LPA.

How is NITK Surathkal College?

SK
Shreya Kapoor Posted On : March 25th, 2021
B.Tech Electronics and Communication Engineering, National Institute of Technology Karnataka, Surathkal (2020)

NITK Surathkal is one of the best colleges in India and the student life there is full of ups and downs. Some of my friends are studying at NITK, so I can describe the institute in detail.

Here are some experiences and facts about NITK:

  • The campus is lush green having its own beach and lighthouse, and the student life is good. There is a really loud bell on the campus that wakes everyone up, and even the dogs start growling.
  • You are probably going to wake up to its sound daily at 7:45 am. You will want to sleep a few more minutes but because 75% attendance is mandatory in college, you will wake up with weary eyes and rush to the washroom to brush your teeth.
  • The clock keeps ticking and by the time you finish brushing, it's time for your first lecture of the day. So, you rush to the mess, trying to grab anything that you can, and head towards the lecture hall where you find that the class is already in progress.
  • After 5 pm you get to go back and do Homeworks. You meet your friends who hang out with you at the beach and by the time you come back, it's 7 pm.
  • In your hostel, you finally relax, play CS go, a bit of gossip, and talk to seniors after which dinner follows.
  • You start your homework by 11, and it is going to take hours to write that. There are more guys in your situation so all of you decide to just copy from a friend's sheets and finish the work with full enthusiasm by 1 am, after which you finally sleep.

This was a typical day that keeps on repeating itself as long as you're in college.

What advice or tips would you give to a first year BITS Pilani student?

KG
Kriti Grover Posted On : June 27th, 2023
Studied at BITS Pilani (2019)

Here are s few pieces of advice I would give to a first-year student at BITS Pilani

  • Don’t develop preconceived ideas about anyone or anything, in general,
  • Your JEE or BITSAT rank is of no use here and everyone here is equal
  • Your style and clothes don’t matter a lot here.
  • You will experience a new kind of life if you participate in clubs and departments.
  • You will get used to the messy food so bear with it.
  • You will miss your friends and the memories you created here so make sure you are enjoying your life and not focusing only on your studies
  • Don’t miss your first Oasis
  • Go on trips frequently and hang out with your friends as much as possible provided your studies are not being affected

Lastly, keep in touch with your college friends!

How good is SIOM (Symbiosis Institute of Operations Management) Nashik?

YA
Yash Arora Posted On : February 25th, 2022
MBA Operations Management, Symbiosis Institute of Operations Management, Nashik (2019)

Symbiosis Institute of Operation Management is a great option if you are interested in Operation Management.

  • You will get to learn interesting subjects for your Operation Management course. The syllabus followed at SIOM is its USP. NITIE is ahead in ranking for Operation Management, but SIOM has an unparalleled syllabus.
  • The faculty base is great. Due to the small campus size, you will get to interact a lot with the facilities as well as your peers.
  • Through their vast alumni connections across industries in and around Nashik, the institute organizes regular industrial visits.
  • In the 2021 placement drive, the average and highest CTC offered to the students was INR 9 LPA and INR 17 LPA. Recruiters from all sectors visit the campus placements.

Although the infrastructure of the campus can certainly improve, it is a decent option for pursuing Operation Management.

What type of questions are asked in the interview for admission to AFMC Pune?

KS
Kalyan Sahu Posted On : September 22nd, 2023
AFMC Pune

Firstly you need to be sure of your decision to join AFMC Pune because you can never perform well if you are in a dilemma. You need to portray your genuine self during the interview, that is the key to getting selected. Your interview shouldn’t seem forced.

  • When you come for the interview, you will go through certificate deposition, wherein a file about you is initiated. You will score extra marks for the certificates you already have.
  • This will be followed by ToELR, a Test of English Language and Reasoning. It’s an 80-mark test consisting of 40 marks for English and 40 for Mathematics and logical abilities.
  • For English, all you need is basic knowledge of the language. For this, you can just take some short online English tests consisting of comprehension synonyms and antonyms.
  • For Mathematics, you need to be the origin of your concepts and also have a strong presence of mind.
  • The psychological test will evaluate your real self and I don’t think there is any right way to prepare for this.
  • This is followed by a preliminary interview with the Brigadier(Adm). During this round, your file is updated for the final round.
  • Lastly, the most crucial round is the panel interview. This interview is conducted by a panel of psychologists, the Dean, and several other intelligent and prestigious members of AMC. They will evaluate your basic knowledge about your area, your interests, and your hobbies.

The key to ace these institutes is to stay confident and genuine!
