Is FDDI worth spending money on?

RS
Ruhi Sen Posted On : January 20th, 2022
B. Des from Footwear Design and Development Institute, Noida (2019)

One of my friends studied at Footwear Designing and Development Institute (FDDI). According to her, after 12th, usually students with Maths go for engineering, medical or CA. But ones willing to pursue a more creative career the FDDI is the place for you.

Very few people go for FDDI. It offers other courses like leather goods and accessories design, retail and merchandising and fashion designing. These courses are the most popular at FDDI. But if you want to go into fashion designing then try for the NIFTs before FDDI.

Is there any Ragging in SVNIT?

AS
Amit Sharma Posted On : January 4th, 2024
Studied at NIT Surat

Ragging has practically disappeared from the SVNIT campus. This is because of strict rules and regulations against ragging, made by the college authorities and the country’s lawmakers.

It is beneficial to reach out to your seniors and seek their advice in various matters related to the hostel and college. Being a new student means that you’ll need someone for advice on books, notes, and even the best places to hangout.

It is important to keep in mind that your seniors are no beasts, rather they are students just like you. The seniors might ask for your name, school, and other details. But this is in no way ragging. They do that to know you better and develop a friendly bond with you. There are some seniors who’ll be friendly with you, while others won’t bother at all.

So don’t worry about ragging, and try to develop a healthy bond with your seniors. They’ll be of great help to you in navigating through your engineering degree.

Many amazing experiences at IIT Bombay make for memories in the long run. Some of them are as simple yet surreal as sitting by the lake or trekking. Some specific experiences that should not be missed at any cost while at IIT Bombay are

  • Mood Indigo: It is the annual cultural fest of IIT Bombay. One should attend this festival once in their lifetime because it’s something that should not be missed as an IITian.
  • TechFest: it is the annual Tech fest of the college. This festival is at another level and has too many amazing events one should surely not miss.
  • Sameer Hill: Every IITian is frustrated after some time because of the hectic campus life and this place is the best escape from reality. You can sit with your friends and forget your life problems for a while.
  • Boathouse: This is the best place for a nature lover and should be visited in the early morning or evening. It is an amazing time pass activity.
  • Clubs: Another major highlight of IIT Bombay is the wide variety of cultural and tech clubs that are run by the students themselves. If you want to learn something new and creative you can join a club of your choice and spend your free time there.

No, it is not blacklisted. NIT Kurukshetra University is a well-known prestigious university. It is a place of learning that is merited with NAAC grade ‘A’ in 2009. It was for 5 years.

Although it is no longer a NAAC rated university, if you search it online you would come across documents and reports specifying its authenticity as NAAC ‘A’ rated university.

VIT:

  • VIT is a renowned private university in India, known for its academic excellence and campus facilities.
  • The campus is located in Vellore, Tamil Nadu, and offers a range of courses across various disciplines, including engineering, management, and law.
  • The university has a strong focus on research and innovation, with numerous research centers and labs on campus.
  • VIT has an excellent track record in terms of placements, with top companies visiting the campus every year for recruitment.
  • However, the one drawback of VIT is its fees, which can be quite high for some students.

IEM:

  • IEM is a well-known private engineering college in Kolkata, West Bengal.
  • The college offers a range of courses in engineering, management, and computer applications.
  • IEM provides scholarships in the form of tuition fee waivers to meritorious students who come from economically weaker sections of society.

While VIT is an excellent choice for students who can afford the fees. If you cannot afford VIT, there are other good options to consider, such as Heritage Institute of Technology Kolkata (HITK), Techno Main Salt Lake (TMSL), and IEM Kolkata (IEMK). These colleges have decent infrastructure and placement records and offer courses across various disciplines.

Which is better, IP College for Women or Gargi College?

RM
Rashi Mishra Posted On : January 7th, 2022
B.A Philosophy & English, Indraprastha College for Women, University of Delhi

There is no clear winner. Both IP College for Women and Gargi College have their advantages. So, you should choose among these two institutes, based on your course of choice and the distance of the institute from your home. For Commer courses, Gargi College is better, while for Arts, it’s IP College. IP is a north-campus college, so it is a bit isolated from the other colleges. The number of societies at both colleges is almost equal.
