To pursue a specialization as complex as Neurosurgery, AIIMS is definitely the best choice. CMC Vellore is also a leading medical institute but the brand and credibility of AIIMS are unmatched.

No doubt, AIIMS Delhi is one of the most prestigious medical schools in India, and being selected is a very significant accomplishment. However, there are still many droppers that make it into AIIMS Delhi so don’t lose hope.
One such example is a distant cousin of mine, Dr Ajay Mohan who attempted his AIIMS entrance in the year 2010 and could not crack it. He took a drop year and prepared rigorously again for the entrance. He secured a very good rank in 2011 and got selected for AIIMS Delhi.
I recently met him and he told me wisely that dropping a year and re-attempting an exam are not necessarily bad things provided that you are certain that you will come back stronger with better scores.
How is Manipal University in terms of education?
I have a few friends pursuing courses at MIT Manipal. One of my friends is in Mechanical Engineering and he is happy to be there.
- Campus infrastructure is very good and well-maintained compared to any NITs and IITs.
- Students enrolled and Peer groups might not be as good as compared to IITs and NITs but still, you can meet people of different places with unique talents. You can achieve Good social exposure that can help to develop your personality.
- The faculties are average, you need to depend on yourself for academics, which is true for most colleges.
- The scope of Research might not be as good but the students of Manipal University made a student satellite which can be considered a big achievement.

Faculty and Curriculum
- The faculty at ITM is very poor as they lack specialization and qualification. Almost all the faculty at ITM Gwalior is B.E. only.
- This directly affects the curriculum of the course which is not so great either. However, teachers are very supportive.
Infrastructure
- They have well-equipped laboratories and other infrastructural benefits.
- A lab dedicated to coding and programming is built for students to take additional courses which the school conducts on a regular basis. These courses give an edge to you over other students in Placement interviews.
- The recently established Center of Excellence will give extra benefits, as the students are selected to work on Live Company Projects through its collaboration with numerous MNC’s.
Placement
- With more than 62,226 placement opportunities, 372 major industries, and MNC corporate recruiters, ITM has a very special place among other ivy-league colleges of our country.
- ITM conducts Expert Lectures, diverse seminars, International conferences every semester. This year 4 students were offered a package of 10 Lakhs by BYJUS.

What happens in KIIT counselling?
This is a pressing question for most freshers. Most of the new students remain curious about the KIIT counseling.
First of all, you will have to report to the venue on the stated date and time. You will be seated at a particular place with the other candidates and over there, verification of all the candidates will be done. Candidates will be called in groups to the Convention Centre, Campus-6 auditorium, based on ranks.
Once there, you will be given a form in which you will fill in the necessary details including the branch that you wish to opt for (Choice 1, 2, and so on). There will be a speech after which you and the other candidates will be called in the front, on the basis of ranks or according to some serial number. In the front, there are counters.
In these counters, you need to submit the required documents like statement of marks, TC, Migration, Photographs, DD, etc. After this step, you will be given a receipt of the amount that you have deposited, a provisional admission letter, and some other documents.
With this, your admission process into KIIT will be completed. KIIT also provides buses for a campus tour.
How is DCRUST?
One of my friends studied at DCRUST. DCRUST is the abbreviation of Deenbandhu Chhotu Ram University of Science and Technology. According to him, it is an average university.
- The university is located at Murthal, Sonipat, Haryana, India, and is run by the state government.
- It was previously known as Chhotu Ram State College of Engineering, Murthal. It is not very popular like NITs or IITs.
- Campus placements here are not at all good. You cannot expect to receive placement offers from companies like Google or Tech Mahindra.
- The faculties vary in each department. The Mechanical and Electrical departments have good professors.
- Sports is appreciated and encouraged only if it's Basketball.
- There are 4 boys and 3 girls hostels.
- There is a shopping complex consisting of one bank, one salon, one xerox shop, one juice shop, one laundry shop, one cafe, and one stationary shop.

Overall, DCRUST is a world on its own. While studying here you need to keep in mind that it is not a school, you have to grasp knowledge on your own as nobody will focus on you separately other than yourself. So, if you did not get an opportunity to study at IITs or NITs, you can surely go for it.
