Students are getting placed, but why are the pay packages of the B.Tech students of Tezpur University so low? Is it bound to improve in the upcoming years?
A few of my friends graduated from Tezpur University. Here is their insight on the placement issue.
The engineering department of the institute is relatively new. It will take some time for the institute to create its credibility and an alumni base. The brand value of any institute is a product of these two factors. So, TU will still need a few years to become recognized among the recruiter circle.
According to my friends, the university needs to be a little liberal in their internship rules too. As of now, students are not allowed to take external internships. This is a wastage of opportunity since many recruiters recruit students after the completion of their internships.

- It's the best place for nature lovers with its lush green campus and scenic ambiance.
- NIT Agartala has many sports facilities such as Football, Cricket, Volleyball, Carom, TT, etc
- The commuting expenses to and from the college are very low.
- Lastly, the institute has a good placement record, and every year big shots like L & T, Infosys, Tata, NPCL, BPCL, Works Application, IOCL, MU Sigma, Samsung, Indian Navy, Microsoft, Cap Gemini, and many more visit the campus.
So, unless you have better options like IITs, NIT Agartala is the best option for you!
What is the scope and the average salary of mining engineering at IIT Kharagpur?
The scope of Mining is very limited and can be accessed only if you are truly interested in Mining and are serious about pursuing a career in the same. I suggest you pursue higher education in Mining from an elite foreign university like Colorado School of Mines, Royal School of Mines, and University of New South Wales. This will nurture your technical skills to the best. Another suggestion in this regard is that you can also go for ISM. The enthusiasm for Mining at ISM is like nowhere else.
However, if you are after a good package rather than pursuing your enthusiasm, then IIT KGP is a better option. IIT KGP has an abundance of opportunities for the students academic environment is second to none. It offers extensive exposure and is thus most preferred by Engineering students of all branches.
As far as recruiters are concerned, a large number of them offer jobs to students at IIT KGP mainly because of the credibility of the Institute irrespective of the branch. Also, very few companies offer core jobs in Mining. Therefore, most mining students end up with non-core jobs.

What are some less-known facts about MDI Gurgaon?
You, as an MDI student, are known as a 'ManDevIan'.
- As a student, you have to abide by strict timings and must return to campus by 11 pm. However, some students tend to party all night and even take a long drive to Murthal, a famous dhaba spot around two hours away, returning as late as 5 am.
- MDI boasts a comparatively high number of 75 full-time faculty members, many of whom reside on campus.
- Late-night snacking options available to you as a student include the canteens run by SharmaJi, JhaJi, and Bhandari Bhaiyya, which offer delicious, butter-laden paranthas and Maggie. However, it's important to watch your diet to avoid weight gain.
- MDI Gurgaon has three hostels, each with a different reputation. The most popular one is Kshitij, which is known as the 'hotel.' Takshashila is referred to as Gotham City because of the bats, while Change Masters is considered the 'slum' in comparison to the other hostels.

How are the hostels at Central University of Rajasthan?
One of my friends studied at Central University of Rajasthan (CURAJ). As he has availed the hostel facilities, let me share the details which might give you a clear idea.
- The hostel is in good condition with rooms available on a sharing basis.
- Each student will get a bed, a chair, an almirah, a chair, and a mattress.
- There is a good source of light in every room by a window, a tube light, and a night lamp.
- Proper stable internet connectivity is given to all.
- There is a common washroom in every hostel. The cleaners maintain the cleanliness of the hostel.
- There is a reading room in every hostel.
- Every hostel has a register where you can lodge your complaint.
Along with all these good facilities, there are some things that might come as disappointing, these include, the shortage of water, no common room in the hostels and the mess is combined for two hostels.
Despite these drawbacks, he mentions that the hostels are appropriate for a student's needs.
What are the placement statistics for Mathematics and Computing in IIT BHU?
Mathematics and Computing at IIT(BHU) is a dual-degree program, which promises a bright career for students. The placements of Mathematics and Computing (MnC) are almost at par with that of Computer Science and Engineering. All students who sit for the placements are recruited within the first two days of the placement season. Exact statistics are not revealed to maintain the confidentiality of companies as well as students. However, the average CTC offered to students in IIT BHU varies each year, according to the placement highlights of 2019, it’s 8 LPA. Some of the top recruiters which are usually open for recruiting are - Google, Amazon, Apple, Oracle, Goldman Sachs, Nutanix, Morgan Stanley, Flipkart, Nutanix, JP Morgan, Samsung, etc.
Which is the better option for CSE, in terms of professors, diversity, regulations, freedoms, food, room quality, extracurriculars and reputation: SSN, Anna University (College of Engineering Guindy)
One of my friends is a CEG alumni. He thinks it’s the best option for CSE. Some strong points that support his opinions are:

Faculty: The faculty of CEG is of good quality. Many are experienced and alumni of CEG themselves.

Diverse Background: CEG welcomes a mix crown. Your peers are from everywhere across India and this makes it a more thrilling experience.

Rules and Regulations: CEG does not impose unnecessary rules on its students. They are given an extent of freedom.

Infrastructure: Classrooms and laboratories are well equipped. Canteen food is of good quality at very low cost.

Network: CEG has excellent Wi-Fi facilities.

Hostel: Although the food is of average quality, the cost of hostels is less. The buildings are poor but in good condition.

Extracurricular activities: CEG believes in exposure to extracurricular activities other than academics.

Global Recognition: CEG has excellent recognition among foreign universities.
So overall CEG is the best option of all the other colleges you mentioned. But the placements at CS are better.
So the conclusion is CEG > SSN > SRM/Amrita.
What do we have to do to get into NITIE?
NITIE has a total of 5 courses both for the students attempting for CAT and GATE. The courses for CAT students include PGDIM and PGDISEM whereas for the GATE students include PGDIE, PGDPM, PGDMM.
- Firstly, the students have been shortlisted according to their entrance exam scores be it CAT or GATE.
- After that, once shortlisted, they are called for the campus round which is Group Discussion and Personal Interview.
- Again, they are shortlisted based on the score attained in the Group Discussion and Personal Interview and the final list is prepared.
The minimum eligibility for any student to be a part of the NITIE is to have a Bachelor of Engineering/Technology degree with at least 60% aggregate in any branch. For the SC/ST/PwD category, this aggregate of 60% goes down to 55%. There are a few seats that are reserved for the sponsored candidates.
Which college has better placements: IIT BHU vs IIT Guwahati vs DTU?
It’s highly illogical to compare the likes of IIT BHU and IIT Guwahati with DTU. You cannot compare a tier-1 with a tier-2 college. IITs are home to the best minds of the country and the crowd IITs attract cannot be compared to an institute like DTU. The faculty pool is refined and highly learned at IIts that are recruited through a rigorous process. IITs are funded by the central government and the campus and facilities are at another level.
