So, considering the placement scenario and opportunities in both the institutes, it can be concluded that NIT Bhopal (MANIT) is a much better institute than IIIT Allahabad.
Two of my close friends are studying at NIT Surathkal and MNNIT Allahabad respectively and often I hear them comparing their colleges based on some aspects.
Ultimately, the choice is yours!
One of my friends shared his experience of being a student of IT in SOE. His first choice was CS during registration but he was given IT due to his rank. Initially, he missed CS and remained worried about being in a different branch. But he finally understood that IT was better than CS.
The following points are based on his experience at the campus:
It is also suggested by many seniors and experienced friends that you take a closer and detailed look at the placements of every year for both these branches at CUSAT before taking the call. There is always a slight difference in the placement every year depending on the industrial, market requirements, and interests of the students.
The following table shows the placement statistics for the 2020 academic year at CUSAT:

Getting in touch with the students, faculty, and college staff is a good way to understand both the branches better and closer. Remember that you should not completely rely on your friends’ or seniors’ opinionated suggestions.
If you want to learn about Computer Science Engineering or IT, then the Science College of Calcutta University is the perfect place.

Achievements - CU:
Although people are trying to dismiss CU's contribution, it is the only university in India that has Noble Award-winning alumni, such as Dr. CV Raman, Dr. Amartya Sen, and World-renowned physicians Jagadish Bose, Meghnad Saha, and Dr. Ashok Sen at present.
If you have the knowledge and skills in CSE or IT, you don’t have to worry about placement. With proper skills, you can excel faster than even IIT graduates.
Comparing Jadavpur University and NIT Durgapur is illogical and the same as comparing oranges and apples. Both the colleges have their unique strengths and weaknesses. Consider the following points becoming making the decision
So if you are ready to stay outside the campus and have no interest in the NIT tag then choose Jadavpur but if you want a NIT degree then choose NIT Durgapur.
Both the colleges are very well reputed colleges and are very good at their respective fields. MAIT is ranked 251 for BTech by NIRF 2020. Whereas, USICT is accredited by NAAC with an ‘A’ grade.
CSE at MAIT-
This course places emphasis on all the important aspects of computers such as computer networks, mobile communication, algorithm design, operating system, advanced database systems, the theory of computation, computer graphics, etc. the department also takes the initiative to improve the soft skills, analytical capability, and verbal communication of the students so that they can face their competition in all fields with confidence.
Admission:
To apply for this course students should pass class 12 i.e 10+2 CBSE pattern or equivalent with a minimum of 55% aggregate marks in physics, chemistry, and mathematics.
The admission is done through JEE. The institute also conducts CET for selection. In 2019 the closing cutoff for CSE was 42615 (JEE).
There are a total of 240 seats for CSE and BTech CSE costs around 1.10 lakhs.
Placements:

The average placements package begins at 3.5 LPA
IT at USICT-
The IT department has been established to design and implement courses with twin objectives of generating effective professionals and to keep up the pace with the R&D activities in the field of fast emerging and changing information, communication technology. The examination score accepted for admission is CET.
Placements:
Some of the tech giants that visit the campus for placements are TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Samsung, Amazon, Genpact, etc.
The average starting package is 6-7 LPA.
Between MAIT CSE and IT at USICT the latter has a slight edge in terms of placements.
As a former BTech student in the IT branch at KIET, let me tell you that this branch is the best among all the others.
Just last year in 2023, the placement percentage from the IT branch was around 93.81%. The highest package was INR 48.89 LPA. The average package was around INR 6.78 LPA.
Not only last year, but the placements have been consistently good since the last 5-6 years.
Nowadays, engineering aspirants give more importance to the brand and tag of the college rather than the academic ambiance they offer. Like sheep in a herd, they flock to colleagues that have higher rankings and give them a tag to boast about in the process, They forget that for education, the tag does not matter.
IIITs are the most neglected institutes in this process. IIITs like Jabalpur, Allahabad, Kancheepuram, and Gwalior have been set up by MHRD that focus primarily on studies in the IT sector, unlike NITs that cater to various branches of engineering. IIITs thus have a CS-oriented culture, curriculum, and opportunities. This may not be the case for NITs that have many branches.
Although NIT Raipur is older than IIIT Jabalpur, it's not at par with IIIT Jabalpur at least in terms of its Computer Science education. IIIT Jabalpur has much better placements for the CSE department than the IT branch of NIT Raipur. Moreover, IIIT Jabalpur has collaboration with Universities in Japan, unlike NIT Raipur.
Here is a brief comparative analysis of both institutes
|

The placement situation at UIET has steadily improved as the alumni do great work. Although placement depends a lot on your efforts. You will get to learn a lot from your seniors at the institute. Networking with seniors also helps in placements. The colleges encourage open-source culture and endorse python. There are many communities on campus that you can join to brush up on your skills.
Here are the UIET Chandigarh 2021 placements highlights.
| Particulars | Placement Statistics |
| Average Package | INR. 6.45 LPA |

Considering all the above-mentioned topics, we can say there are no shortages of placements and you need not worry about it.
IT at IIITA has several advantages over CS at the NITs. I will be explaining these advantages in detail for you-
At IITs/NITs, the first 2 semesters have a common curriculum for all branches. For the rest of the semesters, the core courses are accompanied with some useless courses.
Take NITK for example. From the 3rd sem, B.Tech CS students at NITK are taught additional courses like Chemistry, Engineering Science, Manufacturing Process, Humanities, etc.
IT at IIITA has the same core courses in its curriculum, without any additional ones. You’ll get many electives in 6th and 7th sem, and more projects to work on.
Some courses from the curriculum are- Electronic Devices & Circuits, Circuit Analysis and Synthesis, Data Structures, Digital Electronics, Computer Organization and Architecture, Theory of Computation, Object Oriented Methodologies, etc. B.Tech IT at IIITA has more hardware-related topics than B.Tech CS at IITs/NITs.
Due to these reasons, IT at IIIT Allahabad is much better than CS at all NITs.
