What is your review of Sunstone Business School?

PT
Prathamesh Talwar Posted On : May 17th, 2021
Studied at Sunstone Business School (2019)

Sunstone Business School is located in the education hub of Greater Noida. The institute offers management programs with the ‘Pay After Placement’ guarantee. The college claims that you can pay the fees after you get placed in a job.

Before you enroll in the PGDM program, there are certain things you should know about the ‘Pay After Placement’ plan:

  • Get to know about the mentors you will be under. They are trained, industry veterans. Reaching out to the alumni can also help.
  • Before you agree to the paid internship, make sure that the stipend you will get is enough for your daily expenses. Obtain information about the company you will be interning for.
  • Get to know about the recruitment partners, the record of placements, and how the alumni grow before getting into the course.

If you have any doubts about the credibility of the institute then you can keep your college hunting on. The college does deliver on its promises, though.

What is your review of K L University?

SB
Sailesh Banerjee Posted On : March 1st, 2022
B.Tech Computer Science Engineering, K L University (2020)

K L University, Vijayawada is an average university at best. The student intake is huge.  But the institute doesn’t have sufficient facilities and resources to support the huge student intake. They advocate strict rules and regulations, which may seem unnecessary at times. The faculty base is not good. But you can meet a few extraordinary professors who are helpful and passionate about teaching. Although K L University advertises 100% placements, it’s not entirely true. Everyone doesn’t get placed. The average CTC offered in placements stands around INR 4.78 LPA.

What are pros and cons of NITIE Mumbai?

AM
Aniket Atul Mahulikar Posted On : December 4th, 2020

The pros and cons of the National Institute of Industrial Engineering (NITIE) are as follows.

Pros:

  • Location: NITIE Mumbai is located in the industrial hub of the country, Mumbai. This provides the students with a lot of options to explore and learn.

  • Alumni base: Like other famous B-schools like IIM A, B, C, FMS, XLRI, etc, NITIE, too, has a strong alumni background with students working worldwide. A large number of NITIE alumni are VPs, CXOs and even some are owners of their own start-ups with great ideas. The alumni of the institute visit the campus often for alumni talks.

  • B-School Challenges: NITIE students are well known for their participation in B-school challenges. In the past, students have participated in competitions like HUL Lime, ITC InterroBang, DCB, Aviva, etc. The success rate of NITIE students in these sorts of competitions is pretty high and it becomes an interesting learning experience.

  • Peer-Group: Anyone joining NITIE is surrounded by experienced people in-between the age group of 21-29. Which gives an opportunity for good peer-learning as many students have experience in the industry.

  • Placement: The placement rate of the institute is 100% with an average CTC around 20 LPA. It is somewhat considered as the most recognized B-school for Supply Chain and Operations. Even IT placements have seen a surge in recent years.

Cons:

  • There is a lack of diversity in NITIE and most of the students are engineers. Also, there is high gender diversity, around 8-10% of girls opt for a management degree in NITIE.

  • NITIE is not preferred to those candidates, who want to pursue a specialization in Finance and HR, as it is a new branch and is still in the initial stages.

  • The brand-name of NITIE is not as reputed as IIMs, XLRI, etc, and the brand recognition is limited to the corporate world.

The pros outweigh the cons for NITIE. Although it is not as recognized, NITIE is one of the top B-School in the country with a NIRF ranking of 12 for MBA.

What is your review of Manipal Institute Of Technology (Manipal)?

AG
Alka Gupta Posted On : September 8th, 2023
Studied at Manipal Institute Of Technology

As a student of Manipal Institute of Technology, here are some things I would like to share with you-

  • Campus Life- Manipal offers a great campus life. There are student clubs and technical clubs. Technical clubs include- The Solar Mobil Project and Formula Manipal. The dramatics societies don’t perform much but they are a great place for networking.
  • Sports facilities- The college has its own semi professional leagues- MIT Cricket League and MIT Football League.
  • Food- The campus has good eateries including two Mexican restaurants. Even the hostel mess is decent over here.
  • Academics- The curriculum and labs need to be updated, especially for ME and CE. Over here, learning is theoretical rather than practical. Like any other engineering college, you’ll face lots of assignments and tests. Teachers give importance only to marks. This is especially true for CSE, EEE and ECE branches.
  • Faculty- The faculty for mechanical and civil is liberal and qualified. Unfortunately however, most teachers at MIT look down upon students with low grades.
  • Crowd- The crowd is quite diverse. You’ll interact with people from various cultural backgrounds. Manipal gives ample freedom and opportunities to its students for their personality development. However, the fees are very high.
  • Placements- Except for the top 10% in CSE and ECE, low packages are offered to students. Majority ends up getting mass recruited in brands like TCS. Student intake is increasing, and number of core companies visiting the campus is decreasing. Thus, very average placements are secured for such a high fee.
  • Higher Studies- Manipal will offer support for your higher studies. Opting for an MSc. after your graduation from Manipal, is a good option.

At Manipal you’ll develop good interpersonal skills. But the fees aren’t justified considering its faculty, academics and placement quality.
