What should I choose, a dual degree MSc program in BITS Hyderabad or some branch in NIT Raipur, or CSE in NIT Puducherry?
Choose BITS Hyderabad over NIT Raipur or NIT Puducherry. Here are some of the reasons for choosing this institute:

You might think that going for a dual degree is better as IT companies only prefer CSE graduates. But nowadays this notion has changed as with big data and analytics creating a boom, more and more such companies visiting campuses and hiring people from all branches.
Therefore it is suggested that you go for BITS Hyderabad, where you will grow and learn in a much more competitive environment. Your vision will be broadened.
Which would be better, VIT CSE or NIT Puducherry electrical engineering?
VIT CSE is better in terms of placements, industry exposure, opportunities, and many other things as compared to NIT Puducherry Electrical. According to the recent placement highlights of VIT, the average CTC offered was 6 LPA and the highest CTC offered was 75 LPA.
On the other hand, NIT Puducherry is a Govt. college. It changes less course fee. For a B.E degree, NIT Puducherry charges around 2.17 lakhs, while a B.Tech from VIT will cost around 8 lakhs. The peer group at the institute is great. You will also have the NIT tag with your degree. That is certainly a perk of pursuing a degree at NIT Puducherry.
However, you should choose the institute based on your interest. If you like coding go for VIT CSE, or if you like basic sciences more than NIT Puducherry Electrical Engineering will be a better option for you.
Which should I go with: College of Engineering, Guindy or NIT Puducherry?
One of my friends studied at College of Engineering Guindy (CEG). According to him, it is a good institution, CSE being the highlighted department. Let me share the details I got to know from him.

- The faculty members are also very cooperative and highly experienced in their respective fields.
- CSE always had and maintained a good placement record.
- The campus itself is very huge, providing an appropriate place for students to study.
- There are active clubs and international techno-management Fest 'Kurukshetra' and cultural fest 'Techofes'.
- They also have a club for quizzes, Industrial quality maintenance, social activities, photography, college magazine, all of which are active throughout the year.

If you are starting your journey from Bhubaneswar then you will have three trains available.
- Howrah - Pondy Express (12867)
- Santragachi - Pondy Spl (06009)
- Bhubaneswar - Pondy (12898)
In case it’s more convenient for you to travel by air transport, the nearest airport to Pondy will be Chennai. Now, you can book a cab or relevant transport systems to further reach the campus.
Which is better, NIT Puducherry or NIT Goa for CSE?
NIT Goa can be more preferable to NIT Puducherry. One of the major reasons is because NIT Goa comes with better exposure since it has a leading locational advantage. Several top-tier companies are in close proximity to the institute.

How are the internet facilities at NIT Puducherry?
My brother used to be a student of NIT Puducherry. According to him, the internet speed easily reaches the top of 40 Mbps to 50 Mbps, which is by far the best service provided to students. Other than that, the LAN connections are to be mounted very soon at the institute body so as to help enhance the connectivity speed over time.
The wifi speed once recorded reached almost around 1.1 Gbps in the laboratory, which is the maximum my brother and his friends witnessed.
What are the things to pack for staying in the NIT Puducherry hostel?
Like every other hostel, you need to bring all the necessities you need to the hostel of NITP. Some of the important basic things which you will need in NIT-P are the following.
- You will need bed sheets, pillows, and its covers, blankets, or a quilt for making your bed.
- Things from daily routine items like toothbrush, toothpaste, towel, face wash, perfume or deodorants, soaps, grooming kit.
- Clothes for general wear and for college. It’s also best to pack some special clothes for some special occasions or college fests.
- In terms of stationery items, it’s best to bring your items. You can buy notebooks from there too.
These will be the basic items needed for when you join the hostel of NIT-P.
How is the new campus of NIT Puducherry? Where can I get more information about the new campus and facilities?
The new campus of NIT-P is set beautifully on a plot of 280 acres. One of the beautiful things about the campus is that it is set on a seashore which makes the nearby atmosphere very calm and soothing. The new building has a separate science block which is huge and is connected to the nearby hostel and the canteen too.
The new building has labs and workshop rooms which are equipped with the latest tech and pieces of equipment. The new building also has no water problem as compared to the old one. For electricity and power, there have been no issues so far. There is a 24 hr drinking water facility available. Sometimes there are some long power cuts which are informed beforehand as the building is under construction.
What should I choose, NITK mechanical or NIT Puducherry CSE?
It depends upon what subject you would like to pursue. Here are some of the factors that may help you decide between NITK and NIT Puducherry.
- In terms of the name and brand value, the reputation of NIT Karnataka Surathkal is unmatched.
- NIT-K is the 13th NIT in India, according to the 2020 NIRF rankings, while NIT Puducherry does not have a NIRF ranking.
- In terms of infrastructure, NIT-K is relatively ahead of NIT Puducherry.
- Most essentially, NIT-K is recognized around the nation for its academics, newly enhancing research impetus, and curriculum.
- NITK also has a great placement record. The average CTC offered at the institute is 14 LPA. While the average CTC offered at NIT Puducherry is 6 LPA.
If you don’t have any inclination towards a specific branch then you should choose NITK.
